Every time I think I can’t be surprised anymore with Trump’s illegal war on Iran, he manages to catch me out with curveball after curveball.
He has blundered into the worst American geopolitical miscalculation since Vietnam without any appreciation of what he has done. To appreciate how disconnected from reality his goals were, look no further than this unhinged solution to replace the Ayatollah with none other than 2000’s blast from the past, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad!

President Donald Trump had been open about the US-Israeli plan to initiate “regime change” in Iran, replacing the old establishment with “someone from within”.

When your solution to the current hardliner is appointing an old hardliner, perhaps you’re trying too hard?
The more we learn about how this illegal war was agreed upon, the clearer it becomes that Trump listened to no one reasonable and can’t understand why he can’t pull his leg out of the Hormuz trap.
I get a terrible feeling Trump only selected Ahmadinejad because that’s the only one he’s heard of.
That’s how little forethought Trump has given this.
The real question is did they tell Ahmadinejad of their plans before or after they bombed him?
And supplementary question, who fucking believes anything that USreal says any more?
