When Labour MP Damien O’Connor calls it evil bullsh*t – you know it is!

‘Absolute bulls***’: Labour MP blasts coalition over ‘evil’ voting changes
Labour is putting extra effort into ensuring people are enrolled to vote this election, with one of its MPs accusing the coalition of having an “evil agenda” to disallow its opponents’ ballots.
Senior Labour MP Damien O’Connor said the coalition was trying to “cut out and eliminate” the votes of poorer, more transient people.
“Absolute bulls***,” he told reporters on Tuesday. “It’s quite an evil agenda from the right, as we’re seeing around the world, that’s just been brought into the New Zealand democracy, and it is an outrage.”

Damien O’Conner is a good bastard and he is calling this gerrymandering for what it is, Absolute Bullshit and Evil!
Goldsmith argues that disenfranchising 400 000 voters (80% of whom vote Left) it is to speed up the result, but the Electoral Commission have told him time and time and time again that it won’t and we will still wait 3 weeks for full results.
National, ACT and NZF know that the vast amount of people enrolling and voting in the 2 week lead up to the election are Left wing voters, they have gerrymandered the election so that they can steal this election.
They have done it deliberately to manipulate the result.
We should ALL be calling out this evil bullshit and I’m glad Labour are finally getting around to doing that.
National, ACT and NZF KNOW the election will be close and that is why they re-wrote the rules to shift the Goalposts and steal the election.
You should all be outraged!
Independent Media is more important than ever, especially in the lead up to the Election. TDB is the largest Left Wing Blog in NZ and we have been operating for 13 years now. We get zero funding g from NZ on Air and we don’t have no rich backers. If you can donate please do so here or directly into our account – 12-3065-0133561-56

We should be going to any length to help, assist and cajole the most chronically disorganised among us but there still should be a line on the sand that once time has drifted past it you must have voted or it shan’t be counted.
Or do we allow special, Special, SPECIAL votes for those who only realise they haven’t voted yet when they are watching the Election Night Coverage on TV or even a week after the flags and banners have been tucked away and the Greens are dismissing who they aren’t in coalition talks with?
Yes all citizens should be registered well before the election, but we don’t live in a perfect world. Many people leave all manner of things till the last minute, and this should not be used as an excuse to disenfranchise them.
It’s up to us all to ensure our friends, family and neighbours are all registered and ready to vote come the time.
Personally I am amazed the number of people I know who can be utter laggards when it comes to this.
But tell the same people to go onto Google Store, download an app, feed all your personal information into an algorithm based loyalty card scheme and use a plastic card that gets mailed out to them to save 29cents on a can of V they’d be in like Flynn.
F…ng ridiculous that people can’t enrol themselves months in advance. If it was a ballot for free booze or pizza vouchers or to win the lotto, they’d be there like a shot. Good on the govt for dealing to the lazy arses. You really want people with no fucking interest to just rock up last minute to decide how the country should be run??? The truth is that it’s mostly left wing voters who couldn’t give rats about enrolling on time. The can sod off.
Cheers… mate
You apparently don’t understand much so your vote is worthless.
Many don’t have a long-term address to use so that needs to be sorted out. Some are actually homeless.
What should they write?
Address- my car, ABC St. NZ.
Occupation – nothing.
They still have more idea of what’s going on that you seem to.
Jonzie with another generalisation. Surely “lazy” people wouldn’t vote at all.
When it comes to the crunch, I would believe what comes out of Damien O’Connor’s mouth as opposed to Goldsmith’s, who wouldn’t know the truth if it hit him in the chops! He is a cold eyed, hard-hearted apology for a human-being! We need more caring folk, not the destructive, corrupt and lying lot in now. “It’s quite an evil agenda from the right, as we’re seeing around the world, that’s just been brought into the New Zealand democracy, and it is an outrage.” This CoC will do ‘anything’ they can to win at all costs even if it means cheating! Labour, Greens, TPM et al step up and call out this outrageous behaviour and encourage your voters to regularly check their enrolments right up to cut-off date! No wonder there is so much dishonesty in NZ when this CoC sets the precedent for it! Shame on you. Where’s your dignity, your pride and morality – sadly, completely missing in action?
It is a compliment to those on the Right who can organize their lives to be registered for voting unlike those from the Left. If you are so poorly informed of what you need to do surely you are not capable of deciding the country’s future.
Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..Left Right..Right Left..
Are you in step Trev?
Trevor you are one of the poorly informed if you think this dropkick of a coalition is doing a good job.
Yes I am outraged we should do everything we can to encourage all people’s to participate in our election process.
It wasn’t the special votes that held up the final decision it was more likely due to our desperate and incompetent PM. I’m also trying to ensure all.my whanau are registered.
