Te Kaupapa Election 2026 weekend political podcast: with Willie Jackson and Matthew Tukaki

The Te Kaupapa political podcast 2026 is cutting straight through the spin this weekend — with big questions on war, power, and whether the Government’s story on the economy matches what whānau are actually living.
Does Willie Jackson look like Zinzan Brooke? In fairness, Willie doesn’t hold back!
Today on Te Kaupapa! Fast track to nowhere? Matthew Tukaki is joined by Labour Party MP Willie Jackson, and also joining Matthew in the studio is political commentator, Martyn Bomber Bradbury.
Big voices, bigger issues this week
This week, the world watches as the crisis in the Middle East deepens, with warnings that the language being used signals something far more dangerous than conflict.
Back home, questions are growing over the Government’s FastTrack powers and whether they’re being used to revive projects that were already dead in the water.
We head into Te Urewera, where pressure is mounting on the Crown over decisions affecting whenua and tino rangatiratanga.
And we wrap with the economy, where the reality for whānau doesn’t seem to match the official story.
So what’s really going on in Election 2026?
No spin. No filters. Just the argument.
Tune in right here each weekend at 10am

What Willie looks like is irrelevant. He is an intelligent, moral and decent human being which is more than we can say for many others out there. Living in the NZ of ‘now’ you have to wonder if being a Maori is akin to being a Martian? We should all be ‘banging on’ about the actions of the insane Trump. Someone needs to permanently stitch up his uncontrolled mouth while we still have a chance to get out of this toxic mess! And at home our corrupt, lying CoC continues ro use multiple distractions to fast-track their egotistical, meaningless policies and bills, most of which will have to be rescinded due to inaccuracies. How on earth did NZ become so STUPID?
