Top House Democrat calls on Biden to pardon ‘working-class Americans’

The top Democrat in the US House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries, has called on Joe Biden to pardon some “working-class Americans” after the president faced criticism for pardoning his son Hunter.

“During his final weeks in office, President Biden should exercise the high level of compassion he has consistently demonstrated throughout his life, including toward his son, and pardon on a case-by-case basis the working-class Americans in the federal prison system whose lives have been ruined by unjustly aggressive prosecutions for nonviolent offenses,” Jeffries said in a statement.

When the news broke that Hunter Biden had sent his laptop for repair full of incriminating photos of him doing drugs, we all thought it was a Russian misinformation campaign, because who the fuck is dumb enough too send their laptop full of incriminating photos of you doing drugs to a repair shop?

Fox News and other Right Wing pundits then went on to use the initial disbelief as a magical moment of true journalism and further evidence of how the liberal media lie, which might be true if the reality of this great ‘journalism’ wasn’t just a trashy gossip story about a rich kid burn out who did drugs and bought a gun.

I don’t care Biden pardoned his son. This is a Father who has suffered enormous grief in his life with multiple family deaths.

Watching a political show trial (which is what the case against Hunter became) rip one of his remaining children to pieces inside a prison was too much for Joe and he did what any Father would, despite saying he wouldn’t.

Trying to turn that into some huge moral judgment on Joe Biden might work if he wasn’t being immediately replaced with the corrupt Orange Fascism that is Trump!

The difference between Joe and Donald? Joe uses his pardon power to protect his son, Trump uses it to protect himself and his fellow insurrectionists!

Hunter always seemed like a burnt out kid living in the shadow of his Father and the death of his Brother, Mother and Sister.

He was a grifter who used his Dad to leverage deals.

Again Biden’s  crimes of nepotism might sound grander if it wasn’t being replaced by Trump’s Family Crony Capitalism which manages to make Hunter look like the Pope.

That said, Hunter was a douchebag. Requiring his Brother’s widow to testify about their affair was gasp inducing.

Hunter has been an enormous disappointment and continues to be, that horrible truth can never be wiped clean by a pardon but it does build Joe’s mana as a father.

A sad ending to a sad tale and a mere hors d’oeuvres to the buffet of self interest Trump will usher in.

The difference between Biden and Trump…Biden’s billionaire backed party represents the Left, so the Left is urged to turn a blind eye to his foibles while Trump’s billionaire backed party represents the Right so the Left will always see wrong in whatever he does. From a non-partisan point of view, they are both pricks because they serve private rather than public interests! Politics, is not meant to be the play thing of unelected, undemocratic interests. To give Biden his due, he’s been one of the greatest servants to private interests that the Dem party has ever had.

  4. I don’t think anyone doesn’t understand a pardon from his dad for the crimes for which Hunter pled guilty. However, the Pardon is extremely far reaching, going back to any and all undisclosed potential crimes dating back 11 years! Indeed, it goes back so far that it was still while Biden was Vice President under Obama! A pardon like this is unprecedented, and strongly suggests numerous Federal crimes were forthcoming.

    1. Probably because of the petty tyrant Trump who would circumvent any pardon if he could. It’s possible to drum up cases about anything and Trump is an expert at it.

  5. Biden didn’t owe the voters anything after the election so he did the right to thing as a father instead. Trump already has a record of pardoning some really unsuitable people so he is still leading the pack for the title of most corrupt.

    Biden frequently stated he would NOT pardon Hunter.
    Understandable Hunter had his conviction, waiting for sentencing. Could do seventeen years but unlikely, probably five years easy time. Could even be looking at a suspended sentence.
    Then Trump happened. Kash Patel happened. This man is deep state conspiracy theorist and is due to be director of the FBI with huge powers over all the perceived enemies of Trump the merciless. Believe it he is a screaming nightmare waiting to haunt US dreams.
    What hell was Joe Biden supposed to do?

    1. Agree, he’d be a moralistic idiot if he didn’t use the pardon. I imagine he wouldn’t have pardoned him if the Democrats had won, for the reasons you mention, those guys wouldn’t have been in power

  10. Biden big ups as Dad but how would it look if the son served a sentence after he was sent round the world to retrieve war monger money for The Big Guy.
