Russian MP warns Putin: We’re on the brink of social collapse
A Russian MP has demanded that Vladimir Putin deliver a plan to end the war as he berated the Kremlin’s “ineffective leadership”.
In his lengthy tirade, Vyacheslav Markhayev listed corruption scandals, oligarchy, losses of the “most active and reproductively capable segment of the population” and Ukrainian drone strikes among the ills plaguing wartime Russia.
“The time of illusions is over. The country is on the brink of a social explosion and the blame for this will fall squarely on the entrenched ruling power,” said Markhayev, a deputy of the State Duma from Russia’s Communist Party.
“If the situation persists, social unrest and chaos will become more likely,” he lamented. “The West will inevitably exploit this to destroy the remnants of Russian statehood.”

I am to the Left of Karl Marx and believe Socialism is the solution to corrupt capitalism, but I have never been a fan of Putin or his thuggish ways.
Something many people forget about Putin is that he has $200billion.
He has run a protection racket over the Oligarchs ever since he defeated them and imposed a 51% tax on their criminal underworld and has amassed an insane amount of wealth off the back of that.
4 years ago, Putin forced his unwilling army back into a conflict with the West as a last gamble to appeal to the pantheon of Russian strong men leaders he compares himself to and that Putin’s own Christian faith is a driver and that he sees Ukraine as Russian.
We forget Putin gained power because he promised Yeltsin there would be no attempt to come after him. Putin’s war with the Oligarchs is insightful and his desire to wage war against the West because his creeping neurosis makes sense.
The Minsk Accords didn’t justify this war.
Into this entanglement of history comes Trump, a barbarian with zero understanding of the glory of Rome.
Using Trump to cut a peace deal that simply exploits the reconstruction needs of Ukraine is outrageous.
Putin can only get away with the enormous cost of life and casualties by recruiting in the far flung corners of Russia.
Russia’s economy has suffered as much as the people have.

…there’s no way a Democracy could lose half a million men and still be in power, Putin is only able to do this because Russia is a deeply authoritarian regime.
The people of Russia and Ukraine deserve peace, this needless, pointless and stupid war doesn’t improve Russia’s standing in the world or deter Western influence.
It has been a misjudged military adventure from the start and has managed to go so long because the war crimes committed by Israel against Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon are so awful they eclipse what Putin is doing.
Putin owns a $700m, 270-foot-long super yacht that is equipped with a gym, a saloon, a spa, a library, two helipads and a 49-foot indoor pool that can be converted into a dance floor, he also owns a $1.4billion palace on the Black Sea with a casino, private theatre and underground hockey rink – hardly the image of a Socialist champion!
No wonder Trump loves Putin and yearns to be like him.
The war in Ukraine will sink Putin unless he changes course.
Putin is the Hamas of Europe. He’s the reason, the excuse to attack, annihilate or control, an entire people. Putin is the designated bad guy of this conflict, much like Hamas is and Gaddafi, Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden have been, not too long ago. They are all excuses, all fronts that allows us to rage war on whomever we see fit. The designated bad guy gives us legitimacy and cover for any actions we choose to use. We’ve seen it all before, we have learnt diddly squat nonetheless. We are masters of war…and storytelling!
As for Putin/Russia, they are winning the battles but losing the war. How do you beat the entire Western world, a world with limitless borrowing capabilities and several hundred million more unfortunate souls, to throw into the meat grinder.
How do we see through the bad guy illusion the Western elites so expertly, and continuously, weave over us! Can we stop this war, and the main war they have in store for us all – the battle to bring down the real threat to Western hegemony – China. Or will our big money overlords have their way and throw tens of millions of us into the mire just so they can continue to dominate the non-Western world, granted this dominance earns these elitists trillions of dollars through control of resources and debt of the non-Western world.
Or will the rise of China and its Russian/Iranian underlings, finally break the financial hold the West has over the rest of the world. This is the real battle, the real game at play here. Bad guy Putin, just the latest fall guy, the latest story being served up to help our elites keep control of the entire world!
I think that Hamas would make better neighbors than Israel in its current form which you seem to endorse although your defense of Putin is misplaced. The real story is that any side controlled by men or women has faults although it’s also obvious that some are much worse than others. You need to take a much wider view of world events if you want to know the real battle.
