…the Political Right dominate the private media while strangling off Public media and then rely on lying on social media to bypass any scrutiny…
…by gagging and defanging the fourth estate, the political right can avoid real analysis of what they are doing.
Social media hate algorithms polarise the debate and disinformation and misinformation replaces rational objectivity because rational objectivity is a heteronormative white cis male privilege so everything has become feelings based.
The woke social media Lynch mobs of 2016 reduced identity politics to hashtag feelings but the problem with allowing your feelings to dictate everything is that the Right have feelings too, and they are far more crazy and dangerous.
As the culture wars rage, the Government strangles off independent media and the rich laugh at how easy it is to manipulate us.
I can’t believe what this disgraceful, deceitful CoC-up is being allowed to get away with! It’s so corrupt it defies belief! Clearly you need to have money, influence and power and then the nefarious Luxon will promote your dual dishonesty. Is that now what “Democracy” means in NZ? What free press. Govt can buy the press with money (funding), access, or both, when needed. We have no free (mainstream) press.
Social media is where its at, despite the endless agenda to rubbish it as much as possible. Social media helped Mamdani’s election win. Another reason why its rubbished. Unlike mainstream media, social media is still not totally controlled by big money and or their governmental lackeys. The truth still gets through – for now, at least.
