Sean Plunket has said far worse than this, which is why the BSA complaint feels less like principle and more like bureaucratic theatre with a funding problem underneath.

Fuel prices explode, storms keep coming, and once again Māori communities are left to fend for themselves. Debbie Ngarewa-Packer joins 1-on-1 in 10 for a hard look at who pays when government planning collapses.

Fuel crisis. Political shake-ups. Election 2026 looming. This week’s Te Kaupapa doesn’t hold back.

When disaster hits, it’s not politicians on the frontline — it’s marae. The question is why we’re still not funding them like it.

A war spirals, storms hit harder, and fuel prices keep climbing — so where’s the leadership? This week’s Bradbury Group pulls no punches as politicians and commentators clash over who’s really paying the price.

According to Greg O’Connor, a police officer can shoot and kill someone if they are ‘forced to use legal force while protecting members of the public’ and are not answerable to the legal judicial system.
However I am charged with murder when I am ‘forced to use legal force while protecting members of the public’ – as an example – an armed intruder enters my home in the middle of the night, threatening myself and my family.
Great double standard – thank you Greg O’Connor for confirming the police are a law unto themselves.
After that, if Greg O’Connor represents Police opinion, god help us, they have forgotten that they are there to serve the public. the Police Complaints is corrupt, as it is not independent, full stop.
Totally disgusting attitude by Greig O’Connor last night as he was acting so badly and a disgrace to the force.
He wouldn’t let others speak up!
Does he want to silence all his critic’s?
We need to support the good cops we all know and protect them from this escalation in fatal shootings by the police.
Seems like the Government has cut the police resources and let them loose with guns.
Bad look we have here under this new since emerging no one is safe even from the police who are there to serve and protect us from them now it seems.
Watched it last night,Greg O’Connor was indeed disgusting, he was being extremely defensive and a bully that tried to dominate the discussion. Hone was spot on, and completely trounced Greg.
New Zealand has become a police state, and are a law unto their own. You cannot have the police investigating themselves without transparency or independent scrutiny. We have seen the outcome of that, it’s called a whitewash with the police absolving themselves from any wrong doing or accountability. Ross Meurant made some valid points.
