Trump leads tributes after sudden death of US senator Lindsey Graham
US Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican and key Trump ally who was elected to the Senate four times, has died aged 71 following a “brief and sudden illness”, his office said on Sunday.
Graham made a name for himself with his work on foreign policy and in recent years urged both the Trump and Biden administrations to back Kyiv’s fight against Russia’s invasion. He was a staunch supporter of the Iran war.
US President Donald Trump praised the influential senator on Sunday, calling him “one of the greatest people” in a post on his Truth Social site.
He wrote: “Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the greatest people and senators I have ever known, is dead! He was always working, and was a true American Patriot. Lindsey will be greatly missed.”

We should always be respectful to people who die.
However.
There are some arseholes so awful they deserve the criticism.
Lindsey Graham was one such person.
Personally I’m surprised they’ll be able to get his coffin out of the closet.
His opposition to Gay rights, his hypocrisy over Supreme Court appointments and his appalling capitulation to Trump are all bad enough, but what really marks Graham out for contempt was his blood lusty for war.

Ever since the death of Graham’s dear friend John McCain, nobody on Capitol Hill has been able to match his gleeful enthusiasm for the shredding of human bodies using high-priced war machinery. Wherever there was any debate about dropping bombs, launching missiles, toppling foreign governments, arming proxy forces, or imposing starvation sanctions, you could always count on Lindsey Graham to be the first and loudest voice arguing in favor of more death and destruction.
Graham has personally taken credit for persuading President Trump to begin the war with Iran. In the months leading up to his unexpected demise, the senator had advocated for direct US military interventionism in Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, Yemen, Nigeria, Lebanon, and Palestine, and had just returned from a trip to Kyiv promoting the US proxy war against Russia. He was literally pushing for more war and military expansionism until the very end of his life.
All the world’s worst people are publicly expressing their grief about the loss of their beloved war slut, from Trump to Benjamin Netanyahu to Itamar Ben-Gvir to Tom Cotton to Mike Huckabee. Meanwhile, everyone who’s not a warmongering psychopath is having a splendid day.
…Graham did more to cheerlead for war than any other Republican and his death will be a relief to all the people he wanted to drop bombs on.
War mongers shouldn’t be celebrated in death, they should be buried.

US Senator Lindsay Graham worked for the largest corporations in the US, not the American people. He made them literally trillions and they kept him in office literally until his last day on Earth.
When pulling a weed, 10 more will take its place.
Nothing will change just like after John McCain died. People don’t even remember McCain even existed, that’s how meaningless his death was in terms of “changing” anything for the better.
