Labour vs National crisis response in New Zealand

The contrast between Labour and National’s crisis responses is becoming increasingly clear, with past and present events highlighting fundamentally different approaches to leadership and economic support.
It is very obvious that there is a massive difference between Labour and National in a crisis.
Labour vs National: Two very different crisis responses
Compare Labour’s handling of Covid with National’s handling of the illegal war in Iran.
Labour’s Covid response focused on support
When New Zealand fell over with Covid, Jacinda and Grant were there to help New Zealand get up, give them a cuddle and tell them it will all be okay and then providing the money to survive the crisis.
National’s response criticised as hands-off
When New Zealand fell over because of the illegal war in Iran, National have walked away and left it to the free market to solve while kicking everyone in the balls with no actual plan or response. The way National Party Action Barbie…

…Nicola Willis, has pointed to people using public transport without making public transport cheaper as some sort of win for the abdication of responsibility National have embarked on, is a joke!
They still won’t tell us what their plans are!
Greens propose alternative crisis response
Look at the courage and leadership being shown by the Greens…
Greens Offer Votes To National Party For Immediate Relief In Fossil Fuel Crisis
The Greens’ proposed package includes:
- Making public transport free for users;
- A Relief Payment for low income people or people who live rurally to help meet additional transport costs;
- A Windfall Profits Tax to prevent corporate price gouging;
- Reversing changes to school bus eligibility and routes, and temporary expansion of eligibility for school buses;
- Reversing the Government’s intended reduction in Total Mobility Support for disabled people; and
- Increase mileage rates to the 23,000 care and support workers to meet their actual travel costs.
…National have yet to even tell us what their plan is because their entire election narrative is about how Labour over responded to Covid which explains their paralysis to do anything that damages that narrative now!

In a crisis, leadership isn’t theoretical — it’s measured in action. And right now, the absence of a coherent plan is becoming the loudest signal of all.

Thx CG I was unsure where to put a comment on this. There were several disturbing articles on Stuff today but at least they are telling us, unlike less honest media.
* Grenon paying the legal costs for the warped, racist, Batchelor whose disgusting pamphlet was put into some AK letterboxes;
* Peters’ utter ignorance with another of his ‘squiggles’ jokes! He has no class;
* Jones’ lies telling journo, Emma Ricketts that Megan Woods & Labour closed Marsden Point when we all know it was a Mobil, Z & BP private board decision. Hipkins/Woods challenge this!
* Man’s heart stopped – days later letter from Health NZ telling him he was low priority. Well done Simeon, you tosser!
* More embezzlement / lying from Lawyer Aaron Nichols & thief Jason O’Donohue – both s/be tried, convicted & jailed!
And well well well, looks here. The rabid rights wing conspiracy theorists with hard right wing financial backing NY the new NZ Herald owner had their misinformation trial thrown out of court. Perhaps there is a god after all Zelda…
