  1. C’mon Hipkins don’t stop now.

” Hopefully there’ll be a lot more of this. When parties are standing for election, they owe it to us to tell us what they hope to do in power. Labour’s previous “small target strategy” is a strategy of deceit, an attempt to deny us the information we need to make an informed choice on how to cast our vote. It is fundamentally dishonest and fundamentally undemocratic. And we deserve better than that from those who want to be our leaders ”

  2. Yes a good policy for the many struggling. Also getting rid of the so called backroom government workers is not working. ACC delaying decision for people needing ops making their condition worse and the Police breaching a protection order not good. Time for change.

  3. On Midday Report Friday Simeon Brown was trying to convince people that the cost was actually 1.6 BILLION dollars because he multiplied the number of people who would benefit by the amount they would benefit.
Is this an example of National’s new maths curriculum called Maths for Dummies?

    1. They are so financially illiterate it’s not even funny….

Kiwis should rightfully be deeply concerned about the woeful level of intellect running, and in turn, ruining, the country.

  4. It’s about bloody time Labour came up with something like this. Although to be fair, it’s just dicking around the edges of neoliberalism. But I guess these days you take what you can get.

  5. Not only does it save people money but it should boost public transport use, a double win. Hopefully other practical policies that help those struggling will follow.

  6. $68 million to implement something that has a strong positive ongoing win win ‘quid pro factor’ attached to it …

Compare that to the $680 million penalty/ fine incurred by the spitefully dumb Willis and Luxon for cancelling the Interisland Ferry deal…the of the decade….squandered….flushed down the toilet by The Coalition of The Economically Illiterate.

Due 4 months ago…Now ….4 years behind schedule with inferior ships at twice the price and all the trouble that that is causing with massive 5 week delays on ferry crossing bookings with vehicles.

The sooner the adults are back in power…adults with real intellectual firepower… the better… because this current dumb stupidity that we are having to tolerate is driving N.Z. further down a hole that is going to be very difficult to extract itself from for a long time.

    1. Has anyone seen a plan or design of these going nowhere ferries .?We could have been cruising Cook straight by now on those state of the art Korean masterpieces .I notice the leader of the river of filth party is very quiet and keeps promoting hate to deflect from the fact he has done fuck all about new ferries .And the great negotiator soap seller is no where to be seen as well .

  7. Thank you, Hipkins for giving your voters Hope! This ghastly CoC hasn’t given one thing to our low paid, under-appreciated Workers. They simply continue to fleece them whenever they can and it will come back and bite them. No one should be judged or treated differently because of their wealth or lack of it and this also applies to race! Left keep bringing in meaningful and caring policies to try to bridge the enormous ‘haves/have nots’ gap this CoC has caused,

  8. Martyn – YES and NO…
    YESβ€”cool idea.
NO…No answer on funding sources, and hosting it in a busy train station drowned out much of the speech
