How Sunfields sums up everything wrong with political corruption in NZ

The Sunfield development is rapidly becoming a case study in everything New Zealanders distrust about modern politics β fast-track powers, developer influence, weak infrastructure planning and the feeling that ordinary people always pay the price.
As this Government generates more homelessness, and then arrest those homeless.
As this Government threatens to throw state tenants onto the street.
Look at the naked corruption of property development from the property pimps.
The Sunfield fast-track housing development has become a symbol of everything broken in New Zealand politics β donor influence, weak infrastructure planning, and policies that punish the poor.
This entire disgusting fiasco reeks to high heaven of despicable corruption and housing policies that actively hurt the poor the most!!!

Fast-track panel βmade legal errorsβ on Sunfield: Auckland Council
The Auckland Council has appealed the Fast-track approval of Wintonβs Sunfield development because it believes the panel did not fully consider the flood risk, and the impact on water and wastewater infrastructure. Publicly listed property developer Winton gained approval for its 3850-home Sunfield master-planned community through the Fast-track consenting process on 10 March 2026. The decision came with 179 pages of conditions, as much of the rurally zoned site northeast of Papakura is flood-prone and has no existing water or stormwater.
Why critics say the Sunfield development should never have been approved
A massive development, built upon flood plains, with no public transport infrastructure, no stormwater infrastructure and no sewage infrastructure is rammed through under Fast-track powers implemented by Chris Bishop, who has received donations from the Developer Winton?
For the love of the risen Zombie Jesus people β how much more blatant does the f**k you, to poor people need to be?
Only in a country as perverse in its pork barrel politics as New Zealand has become is this acceptable!
Itβs a Banana Republic meets Cargo Cult.
This is not what urban development should look like!!!!
This is what not giving a shit about poor people looks like!
This is what bending over backwards for the developer looks like!
This is what corruption looks like!
Would the outrage be louder if Labour had done this?
If this was a Labour MP who had crafted legislation for donors, the Right Wing Hate Trolls would scream and scream and scream.
Yet they are as silent as field mice, arenβt they?
It should be called FloodSwamp.

“generates more homelessness, and then arrest those homeless”
It’s like when your so broke you can’t get a WOF on time, which blocks you from renewing REGO and then they fine you for both. But you need the car for work.
Like getting a kick in the head for not wearing a helmet.
The phrase is…
Poverty is a trap.
Until we stop poverty we will continue the race to the bottom for 90%T OF THE POPULATION .The squashed middle ,who think they are sorted ,will get a big comedown in the next 5 years .Just look at how many of the greedy pricks are now crying because the house they paid too much for in 2021 is now worth 200k less .They are now reaping what the have sown by voting for a $5 tax cut last election because they thought they were sorted .
