” Why TOP is suddenly gaining support ”
Because National is bleeding support and those voters want another option to retain a rightwing government with a friendly new kid on the block.
TOP will prop a minority National government.
And retain the status quo that’s failing.
The leader said they will go with the largest party so your assumption is incorrect

I think a centrist kingmaker would make politics much more interesting.
One thing is certain and I think most people, except for a few dinosaurs, would agree, Winston is not needed. We’re completely sick of his ego smothering every good possibility till it dies. It’s only ever been about Winston and what he can get for himself. I’m surprised other adults don’t see that i.e. his party.
We need a little party with integrity if we actually need a king-maker and I don’t think we do. Nor do we really want one.
What we’d like to see is a massive number of people coming to their senses this election, shaking off the stupidity, greed or apathy which has possessed them.
As someone said, I forget who, maybe it was me – this election is going to be a big intelligence test for all of us.
I agree Joy ,time for NZ to grow up .
A=Yes. I don’t have a preference who goes in with Labour and Greens so long as the Left can get rid of this horrible, greedy, biased and corrupt CoC! It has to go!!! Labour et al absolutely can’t do any worse! The Opportunity and Alliance parties have some similar goals, the majority in the same vein as Labour and Greens, so both are a good fit. Labour also needs to remove itself from safe TMP party seats and only focus on those they can control. NZ then needs to build its own local and export drone industry, solar, wind and hydro power thus creating jobs for Kiwis. Luxon’s vanity LNG ‘UNFUNDED’ project has to go NOW and he needs to follow it out the door. How much longer do we have to put up with this thick-skinned, ego-driven buffoon? Bring it on!
