If the SIS & GCSB can co-opt the reasoning of the woke for an enormous budget and surveillance power upgrade, our tiny wee country will finally have a deep state worthy of the name.   

The right wing pundits are desperate to move the debate along because Jacinda led in a way that they can’t seriously counter and so would prefer to forget her extraordinary leadership by sullying it by suggesting immoral political expedience, the political ‘gravity’ returning pettiness to the agenda or personal aggrandisement ending the Government altogether.

Labour can get a CGT over the line by restricting who it punishes, and by aiming its sharpest edges towards those who property speculate. As long as Labour are prepared to fight and articulate why a CGT is fair, they can get this passed.

Every major news outlet had Slater on speed dial and he won the Cannon Media award! So much venom is spat at Slater for what we now know about him – but how quick we are to forget how the vast majority of the NZ mainstream empowered him.

Now is the time to be adults, not spoilt children. Changing the name of a rugby team is not ‘letting the terrorist win’, it shows we’ve actually gained some cultural maturity.

I say until  we can definitively prove that Leighton Smith exists, we should refuse to include him in a debate as pressing as global warming.
