I don’t think the mainstream media appreciate how essential the Māori Electorates will be this election.

Another week, another excellent Q+A.

Prison reformers this week voiced their fears that prison reforms have stalled under Labour and that while the prison muster has fallen, we are still seeing half of those released reconvicted of a crime within 12months of release.

This is a gladiatorial death match with chainsaws and motorbikes.

You would think that with the rise of conspiracy theories spread like wildfire on Facebook and external actors who want to influence NZ politics that public broadcasting as a vital tool to protect our democracy would draw huge media attention and forceful debate.

Yes, yes, yes – Jacinda won. We all saw that, but the reality is we all lost.

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible election coverage offered up so far by our Māori media.
