  1. We already have private companies doing animal control. Their staff cruise and patrol the suburbs wearing american SWAT style black outfits and heavy duty cop belts and super long truncheon torches. We dont need to escalate this carry on.

  2. At the risk of repeating myself:
david seymour is a mascot of roger douglas’s neoliberalism.
Think of him this way. A greedy little man who no doubt at all gets naked and sticky and rolls around on one hundred dollar notes.
We’re history in the making. We must all act to rid ourselves of the parasitic political anomaly commonly known as neoliberalism.
Neoliberalism’s causing grave damage to our society and general infrastructure and we must get rid of it immediately. Yesterday preferably. Anyone got access to a time machine?
‘neoliberalism’ is nothing more than a mechanism which enables sociopathic narcissists to exploit us and degrade us for their egos, wealth creation and status and that’s done by infecting public infrastructure with hate, confusion and capitalising on the divisive hardship the disciples of neoliberalism cause.
“Know your enemy” . Sun Tzu.
In a way, we should be thankful for seymours presence because he’s a perfect example of what we should be most alert for and aware of. He’s the epitome of what people in peaceful, equal, social democracies should be ever vigilant for because no matter how polite, erudite, educated, or socially, politically and creatively advanced we become there will always be fleas.

  3. David Seymour is the MP for Epsom, the richest electorate in the country.
ACT is the party of the rich.

How will David Seymour’s proposed “Force” be applied against the rest of us?,
    What is his proposed “training”?,
What are the “tools” he says he wants?
Will this “training” include training in the use of, batons, pepper spray, and zip ties?
What “tools” of enforcement will be allowed to be used by private security guards hired by David Seymour’s wealthy constituents?
Will the use choke holds, that improperly applied have resulted in deaths, be allowed to be used by these private guards to subdue people?
Will these private armed forces be allowed to have their faces covered?
Will there be any limit to how big a private police force can be?

Only rich people can hire hire private security guards, the more money you have the bigger your private army.
Allowing uniformed private paid armed guards with the right to use force to legally roam our streets and public spaces, is an authoritarian wet dream.

Peter Thiel is one of richest men in the world, Peter Thiel has been described as a ‘techno-fascist’. Peter Thiel is a New Zealand citizen. Do we want to give ‘techno-fascist’ Peter Thiel, the right to hire a private army to be used against New Zealanders?

What limits would be put on Peter Thiel, or someone like him to hire hundreds of private security guards to use force to put down a demonstration against against an energy hungry data centre or other polluting industry in this country?

What links will these private armies be allowed to have to the state forces, police, army, SIS?

From the factory floor and the front lines to the streets of New Zealand.

    From the NZ Herald:
Billionaire Peter Thiel’s secret Kiwi spy links revealed
Matt Nippert, Business Investigations Reporter·NZ Herald·
    9 Mar, 2017

New Zealand spy agencies and our elite Special Air Service soldiers have long-standing commercial links with a controversial big-data company founded by surprise Kiwi Peter Thiel, the Herald can reveal.
An investigation into Thiel’s links to New Zealand has found his firm Palantir Technologies has counted the New Zealand Defence…..

    [Pay Walled]

    From Deutsche Welle, DW:
Palantir: Why its political manifesto is causing a stir
The US tech company has posted a 22-point manifesto on X that goes well beyond typical corporate communications. Critics say it is evidence of “techno-fascism.”
    David Ehl
    April 23, 2026

Over the weekend, Palantir used its official corporate account on X……
The thread reads like a political manifesto by the company — and has sparked debate in both tech and political circles.
In its post, Palantir positions itself at the intersection of technology and security policy…..
…..Yanis Varoufakis, an economist and Greece’s finance minister during the eurozone debt crisis in 2015, shared the original post with the comment: “If Evil could tweet, this is what it would!”
Dutch populism researcher Cas Mudde described Palantir’s thread as a call for a world dominated by an authoritarian United States and controlled by tech surveillance companies, labelling it “Technofascism pure!”
…..The name Palantir comes from J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy epic “The Lord of the Rings.” In the story, they are the so-called “seeing stones,” powerful communication tools used by the villains who seek to subjugate the free peoples of Middle-earth.
Co-founder and key investor is Peter Thiel, whose support is viewed as instrumental in Trump’s political rise…..
On its website, Palantir promotes software designed to support real-time decision-making by governments and companies — “from the factory floors to the front lines.”….

The new Techno-fascism is not that different to the old fascism, as well as the sort of surveilance of society predicted by George Orwell, Techno-fascism still requires enforcers on the streets.

David Seymour’s bill needs to be rejected by every MP in parliament.
Let any other MPs apart from ACT MPs, that vote in support of this bill be known and outed as supporters of authoritarianism and fascism.

  4. This makes me wonder why Seymour never joined the armed forces – he so fits that mindset. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with a military career but he just seems better suited to it. Every day he is looking more like a square peg in a round hole as a politician. He isn’t quick or smart enough for the cut and thrust of politics and he can’t get the level of utter control he wants and needs, that a military career would give him. The only hitch would have been – would he have had the b&lls for it? Problem with his current private militia push is the more you militarise your environment, the less safe it actually becomes. And of course it is yet another distraction from the ugly, vile practices that are actually going on within this CoC.

  5. It sounds like a version of ICE, no thank you ACT the training will be non-existent and another way to get people off the dole and have targets for them to catch people.
