How Hone Harawira winning TTT could save Te PΔti MΔori & the Left

If Te PΔti MΔori wants to stop the chaos in Te Tai Tokerau and reassert itself before Election 2026, there may only be one figure capable of instantly resetting the board: Hone Harawira.
If Te PΔti MΔori want to stabilise the movement, reclaim momentum and stop the bleeding in Te Tai Tokerau, thereβs one candidate who changes the entire equation overnight β Hone Harawira. His name still carries mana, history and grassroots credibility in a way few politicians in modern New Zealand politics can match.
Te PΔti MΔoriβs internal dramas have been a political heartbreak.
From the dizzying highs just after the protests against ACTβs terrible Treaty Principles Referendum to the internal civil war initiated by the Kapa-Kingiβs to their latest drama launching a new party against Te PΔti MΔori, it has been exhausting for supporters who want to see their policies put in place.
All however would be forgiven if Hone Harawira were Te PΔti MΔoriβs candidate in the upcoming Te Tai Tokerau election.
The Te Tai Tokerau numbers suddenly look dangerous
As it stands.
Kapa-Kingiβs new party, the βTe Tai Tokerau Partyβ will most likely not be able to be registered with that name. Names of political parties cannot confuse voters and naming your party after your electorate is likely to be considered confusing.
They have 300 paid members but need 500.
I canβt see why anyone outside Te Tai Tokerau would vote for them.
IF Hone is not the candidate and they chose someone else, it is most likely Willow-Jean will come through the middle, or even Huhana, but if Hone IS the candidate, not only would he most likely win the seat, he will pull more party vote as well.
Why Hone Harawira still matters politically
Hone is the OG of left wing MΔori politics. His activism, his role as leader of MANA, his feed the kids policy and most importantly his economic platform that demands the rich be taxed more.
Since stepping back from national politics, Hone has been a never ending crusader for Te Tai Tokerau and has been deeply embedded within the community.
Hone Harawira running for Te PΔti MΔori in Te Tai Tokerau would be a game changer.
If they donβt select him, Willow-Jean wins the electorate and Te PΔti MΔori gets a lower party vote.

Hone, may I urge you to do this for NZ, not for the Left but for NZ? We have all had enough of the spite, weakness and inflated egos of this CoC bunch of crooks. We are over it and it’s distressing to watch our lovely NZ crumble before our eyes while these inept, narcissistic lunatics forge ahead stuffing up everything in their path. I can’t recall an era when the level of spite and incompetence sunk this LOW. How can ‘supposed grown-ups’ behave in such a depraved manner expecting the ‘needy’ to continue to subsidise their inflated lifestyles. Easy, just look at their reasons for being in politics – all about them and their egos! For example how can Upston claim $1k/wk for the rental of a flat when she already OWNS one in Wellington? Luxon tried this on too but fell short. The capacious greed is horrible to witness but these self-absorbed CoC MP’s have no conscience or moral fortitude. I read the book “No Ordinary Man – the extraordinary life and times of Dr Arthur Purcas”, by John Steele and couldn’t tolerate how Maori were treated by Gov. George Grey during his second tenure – it was worse than appalling! Whatever you choose to do. Thank you.
