Happy May Day Comrades – class struggle is the Identity we need!

May Day isn’t nostalgia — it’s a reminder that the struggle between workers and wealth is still the defining fight of our time.
Comrades!
“Workers of the world, unite!”
“You have nothing to lose but your chains!”
Happy May Day!
Why May Day still matters in a cost-of-living crisis
The day of unionised labour, solidarity and class!
The wealthy gain their wealth in a market whose foundations have been built by the State. We all gain collectively from that societal memory and cohesion. Entrepreneurs sell their goods and services into a society that has baseline standards they directly benefit from.
With their excessive wealth come greater demands on the funding of that baseline standard.
The tax yoke needs to be removed from the worker and placed upon the corporations, the speculators, Banks, Big Polluters and the Billionaire class.
We need to fund our infrastructure, community resilience, green economy and welfare state by taxing the rich way more and providing the many with free public services.
Boomers got cradle to the grave subsidisation and untaxed capital gains, what do the rest of us do on a burning planet?
Class struggle vs culture wars: where the real fight is
The Left have to work together to win over those who are alienated and feeling socially disconnected by all the social media hate algorithm polarisation and we do that by acknowledging their economic anxiety and respond with real world solutions that let them know how much they will be saving per week and per month.
We need less Social Justice and its minefields of hashtag offence and way more Economic Justice that makes it clear that it isn’t the kid down the road transitioning who is your enemy, or the Māori wanting the Treaty honoured or the environmentalist angry at failed climate change policy, your enemy is who it has always been, the Banks, the Oligarchs, the Billionaire Class, the Speculators, Big Pollution and the Corporates!
Late Stage Capitalism on a burning planet is brutally failing us all, we need real solutions to the problems in front of us that meaningfully changes the material welfare of all, not the few.
I’m not looking for Socialism here, just basic regulated capitalism!
Mamdani’s focus on cost of living is how you win without compromising identity because capitalism abuses the majority.
Happy May Day Comrades – class struggle is the Identity we need!

Right now the billionaire class are busily donating $$$$$s to the government parties to protect their privilege. Capitalism will fight to the death, our death most likely.
