A new Israeli law that would allow the execution of Palestinians convicted on terror charges for deadly attacks, but not Jewish extremists accused of similar crimes, would constitute a war crime if enacted, according to one of the UN’s most senior human rights officials.
Speaking amid mounting international condemnation of the bill, the UN’s high commissioner for human rights, Volker Türk, described the law as “patently inconsistent with Israel’s international law obligations, including in relation to the right to life”. He added that it “raises serious concerns about due process violations, is deeply discriminatory, and must be promptly repealed”.
“Its application in a discriminatory manner would constitute an additional, particularly egregious violation of international law. Its application to residents of the occupied Palestinian territory would constitute a war crime,” Türk said.
The legislation, passed on Monday by the Israeli Knesset, has faced a wave of criticism, including from European leaders and human rights groups.

When you brutally oppress a people, it’s not just the oppressed who become mutilated by the abuse, the violence meted out warps the hand that whips as much and the body that takes the punishment.
The Israelis as a culture have become so drenched in victimhood trauma that they militantly pursue their enemies with a neurosis bordering on the sociopathic.
The Israelis are going to need to heal more than the people they’ve committed a genocide against.

But not only has Israel brought in a disgraceful, racist execution policy, RNZ this morning reported an inspection of detention standards, at the largest US migrant camps, has found 49 violations! Israel and the USA are very well matched; both are cruel, sadistic regimes, bereft of any moral fortitude! And Trump has the ‘audacity’ to call Iran “stone age”. Are T&N that deluded or simply ‘Mad as Meat Axes’?
Israel is also warning Christians in Lebanon not to offer refuge to Muslims. Ring any bells historically?
Let’s hear people like Simon Court defend this sort of bullshit. Israel confirms it has lost the plot completely. I mean why not add this to theft and sodomy. It’s very on brand.
