ACT’s subservience to mining should embarrass them – get off your knees Kiwi!
This makes ACT proud?
Ramming through fast track powers via political actors who are receiving donations from that mining industry as the planet burns is just an extraordinary thing to boast about.
The 2% royalty pittance we receive is a joke, and the things being mined are the worst things to mine.
Shane Jones just allowed gas and oil a loophole to not pay their pollution costs and the environment we are supposed to be protecting is being exploited.
Watching ACT celebrate this is like watching book burners dancing.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

More importantly, to FOREIGNERS mining OUR resources.
No problem with mining- if the mining is being done by the government, or Iwi owned firms.
That mining investment ranking that David Seymour’s former employer, the controversial Canadian “libertarian think tank” the Fraser Institute does is ludicrous (eg they rank western Australia below nz). It is not objective and really just a list that right wing libertarian ideologs at Fraser compile of places that they most approve of for mining in accordance to their ideology (places with less regulation or places like nz that are removing mining regulation get ranked higher even if the mining in the places are likely less profitable to invest in).
