  1. But why pink? I like pink! What colour are the rich that it is suggested we should eat? How should people as nutritious be presented? Did anyone see the French film Delicatessen? Perhaps appropriate for a neolib world where money is scarce but also the measure of everything.
Centered on a post-apocalyptic society where food is scarce and used as currency. In an apartment building with a delicatessen on the ground floor. The owner of the eatery also owns the apartment building and is in need of a new maintenance man since the prior one “mysteriously” disappeared… [He] and the butcher’s daughter fall in love and she tries to foil her father’s plans by contacting the “troglodytes”, a grain eating sub-group of society who live entirely underground. —anonymous

  2. You don’t understand capitalism until you understand imperialism.

You don’t understand imperialism until you understand capitalism.

In the early days of capitalism, before the capitalist state took the monopoly of violence to itself. The traditional way capitalists used to sort out the competitive struggle for domination of the market place and drive their competitors out, was with dynamite and cudgels.

Imperialism is capitalist competition between competing capitalist economies for domination of the global market place, and drive their competitors out. Not with dynamite and cudgels but with missiles and bombs.

Only an idiot believes that their imperialist/capitalist bloc of choice are the good guys and the rival imperialist/capitalist bloc are the bad guys.

    The anti-imperialism of idiots

A letter to the Western Left from Kyiv
The ‘anti-imperialism of idiots’ meant people turned a blind eye to Russia’s actions.

I am writing these lines in Kyiv while it is under artillery attack….

….Yesterday, I spent half the day considering whether I ought to join a territorial defence unit. During the night that followed, the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a full mobilisation order and Russian troops moved in and prepared to encircle Kyiv, which made the decision for me….
