According to the Daily Mail, Joy M is the wife of RG, 50, who has been named in a High Court lawsuit against “The Artist known as Banksy” as the first defendant.
M is originally from the West Midlands and worked as a researcher for English Labour MP Austin Mitchell. She later set up Principle Affairs, a lobby group for charities and is thought to have met G in around 2003.
They reportedly wed in Las Vegas in 2006 but are understood to keep to themselves, even amongst neighbours. One source told the Daily Mail: “Even those they occasionally speak to have no idea who they really are.
“The only people who know his real identity are those in the inner circle, who have been vetted. Some of Joy’s relatives have not been told who her husband is or what he does.”..
Andrew Gallagher, a rave pioneer and graffiti influencer, is suing “The Artist Known as Banksy” for defamation, while Pest Control Ltd – which sells Banksy’s artwork – is listed as a co-defendant.
Gallagher’s lawyers have reportedly refused to divulge details of the case, citing confidentiality, but the court hearing could force Banksy’s identity out into the open.
I reckon there will be money and self-promotion behind this. Also the distaste for people doing something anonymous and notable felt by rivals, wannnabes, money-hoovers. It is important to bruit minor things as part of General Mayhem, especially if big money lurks, while Major Machinations sneak off behind false fronts.

Thousands of rural voters could miss out on their right to cast a ballot in the general election next week, because hundreds of polling booths will be closed on election day.
More than 2600 polling booths are being set up across the country, 800 of which will open early, but 300 will not be open on polling day – many of them in remote locations.
The polling booth at Uruti School, about 45km north of New Plymouth, will instead only be open for six hours this Sunday, 8 October.
[Uruti resident] Dawn only got wind of that earlier this week.
“How do I know that it is this Sunday from 9am until 2pm is that we got a pack with the voting card and on there I went through and had a look and it told me that for us it was available then, but that’s the only communication that I know of about that.”
She reckoned many of the area’s 900 or so residents could be in the dark about the change.
“There hasn’t been a lot of communication out there.
