3 Elite Globalists walk into a bar and yell, ‘throw open the borders’. The barman looks up and says, ‘what is this, a joke’?

Oh look, 3 elite globalists want to keep their air points…

NZ must consider opening borders – Gluckman, Clark, Fyfe

Three influential New Zealand figures are urging the government to consider reopening the borders, which could see the country reframe its elimination strategy.

…now of course, if the plague does get lose here in NZ, Gluckman, Clark and Fyfe will all be safe in their leafy suburbs with their well stocked larders.

The working class essential service workers will still have to work through any such breach and the ill and sick will go back to being risk targets.

It’s nice when people who are insulated from the consequences of the plague call for a loosening up of the border isn’t it?

Of course we want to open the border as soon as we can, but we don’t have the quarantine infrastructure to be able to process that surge in numbers and our 30 year underfunded health service is barely capable of the track and trace protocols we would need to stop a leak becoming community transmission.

The Death Cult Capitalists have found 3 new voices to call for the slaves to get back to work. We all appreciate the song but as the mountain of global dead overshadows everything else, we’ll keep those borders and tight thanks Gluckman, Clark and Fyfe.

  1. unbelievable that the 3 of them would think that the rest of us would like to reengage back with the rest of the world. Ah no thanks Helen, Rob and Peter but if you all want to go back to flying around please off you fuck!!

  2. Gluckman, the John Key protege who has been negative right throughout the covid response. Happy to see him off to visit America or Brazil.

    • Gluckman is a pediatrician and NACT patsy in drag.
He is not qualified to make an authoritative judgement
But as a neoliberal he will try and influence the public.

        • My take on Helen is that she plays her cards.
Helen and Cullen floated Kiwisaver, which became a compulsory contribution to fill the coffers of private investment companies with no guarantee for the contributors who also get changed management fees.
In comparison Kirk’s similar scheme invested the money into the NZ govt hands to assist NZ and with a cast iron govt backed guarantee for all contributors.

In the coming event of a global financial melt down then Helen’s scheme called KIWISAVER will see no protection for Kiwis funds and they may all be worth nothing.
Whereas Kirk’s scheme would see the money used for NZ and so removing any need for govt borrowing and the contributors would have their money guaranteed.

Helen’s Kiwisaver – neoliberal funds for bankers to gamble with and charge the contributors. A bonanza for off shore finance institutions.
Kirk’s scheme money for NZ development with no change of loss for Kiwis .

Helen worked for offshore interests and hence her appointment to the UN position. But she did a few important things for Kiwis also.
          She played her cards.

          • well said. so, what i can say with a high degree of confidence is sources say, & 98% of scientists agree, that everyone knows key & clark have betrayed this country & it’s people. key continues to get exposed for flouting & bullshitting. confirmation of clark’s real allegiances r indicated by her appointment to co-lead the “review of who”. it also demonstrates clark’s still working hard against the slaves
she/they will find we need to give who/powers that shouldnt b more powers to force countries to force people to comply for the sake children !!
            just nibbling away

  3. Yeah I go along with you on this. Economic nationalism has a purpose in this situation, immediate survival, so long as it does not morph into a isolationist nationalist fascism. The antidote to this latter would be to counter the elites globalism with a workers globalism, starting with a bubble with covid free Pacific Islands and East Asian states. This would be a safeguard against China (or any other imperialist power) buying up economically desperate states.

This bubble could be extended to bubbles with covid-free Australian states provided there is proper border security and testing everywhere. And provided that these Aussie states agree on a racist-free policy at their borders.

That bubble could grow progressively into an alternative globalism from below that is inclusive of the working people of all colors while keeping a check on the top-down rich white colonial settler kith and kin buying political influence to open up to the world for profit.

Of course we have to have a government willing to do this. I maintain that we will have to create a workers government the acts in the interests of the working majority globally against the minority of exploiting parasites.

  4. The three of them can sod off. Gluckman–Key’s man and a sellout, Fyfe–supreme egotist and union buster, Clark–retired, career third wayer. They are pushing a business agenda. Whats that–business has to do well for the sake of the country? Business has been doing very well for 35 years in this country!…as inequality and uneven distribution of wealth has caused an unnecessarily miserable life for hundreds of thousands of people.

I would rather peruse the findings of the working class and its allies on where NZ should be going.

    • +100 Tiger Mountain….NZ is and NZers are just catching a breather in becoming self -sufficent and rediscovering themselves as NZers and their culture sans globalisation

…’growth economics’ involving servitude to overseas masters and grossly overpopulated counties on the other side of the world is not the way to go

      https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2018/world/too-many-men/

…opening the borders is a NO NO….NZers come first in employment , welfare and health….in fact opening the borders will kill New Zealanders… as this Wuhan virus wrecks its health and death toll around the world

Jacinda and Bloomfield and Winston have done a great job !

  5. All I know is that in seeking guidance on how to move forward I would sooner listen to the very best scientists, i.e., those that are world famous in the world like Gluckman and Skegg, rather than those who are world famous in New Zealand but are very active on Twitter like Hendy and Wiles. It would seem that Clark listens to the former, Ardern to the latter.

  6. Happy for all of them to bugger off. I think Clark should butt out of these sorts of things. And I have absolutely no time for Gluckman of GE favour and the other wealthy dude who thinks he knows it all. We as a country fawn all over these sorts of people it is pathetic, very small minded.

For Christ sake this is about people’s lives, clearly not their lives.

  7. The farmers and growers want their cheap labour force and the education sector their international student cash cows.

One would think that this pandemic would facilitate work towards a system that puts NZers first, but not to be.

    Maybe next time.

  8. It was a truly bizarre statement. It was like these prominent citizens have not yet realised;

    This disease exists
    It kills
    It’s incredibly contagious
Once it gets away the chances of elimination are nil. Then what?
It’s spreading globally faster than before.
    That it overwhelmed health systems.
And in doing so destroys economies.

Hard to believe to these people were once on the top of their games once upon a time. It’s impossible the understand why they think global capitalism is virus resistant.

I mean honestly, what the hell are they thinking?

    • I agree with all of your points about the virus however people are ignoring or failing to realise that the more we learn the more it is turning out to be very similar to existing influenza, carona and rona viruses. Ie; we are going to have to learn to live with it. That will come with pain as much as I hate to say it – and I stand to lose family members if that is the case. I’m not saying throw open the borders but we should be having the conversations, politically, nationaly, locally and within families about what all of our options are

  9. Fuckem, they are calling for the status quo, no longer exists, that’s a foreign country & we do not need to go there, the pro business usual suspects who want it all to return to normal.
There is no normal, wait until the dust settles before jumping off the deep end.
    Cheers Patrick

  10. New Zealand’s and the government’s reaction to the virus has been overly emotional and has led us into a trap of our own making.

The fatality rate of the virus overseas is very low and the nearly all victims are very old and already medically compromised. So low are the fatalities that media, desperate to gin up panic, have taken to reporting ‘cases’ instead of fatalities. It sounds alarming but it’s mostly just a function of wider testing regimes.

So what exactly is NZs plan? Isolate ourselves forever? Wait for a vaccine that may never come (the common cold is another type of corona virus – how successful have we been with that?)

At some point NZ has to bite the bullet and open the border, without a strict quarantine. None of the political parties are talking about that because there is an election coming, but they are thinking about it.

      • over 500,0000 ( and rising daily) dead in 8 months

Yes, and they’re weighted against sectors of the population:
In New York City, for a long time the epicenter of the virus in the United States, health data found that Blacks and Latinos were hospitalized at twice the rate of Caucasians.
Research from APM Research Lab found that by the middle of May, Black Americans had died of coronavirus at almost three times the rate of white Americans. Inequalities in Coronavirus

      • I don’t think Andrew is National (there are some good nationals) but yes probably Act.
Maybe the Slater Party….A better word is just merely ‘cruel’.

      • shona u r the problem – all Andrew has written is verifiable using open sources so either didn’t bother to educate yourself further than the covid TV we were bombarded wth and nor did u enquire further as to Andrew’s true & sensible point of view. so either that or worse – u refuse to believe it !! what is sad is your insults & rudeness . I guess u download the app & trump is Putin’s puppet too. plz take a look at Corbett report.

      • its lame enough u make the assumption Andrew is wealthy, dull & needs to get out more – cant believe u didnt shame him for being white, old & male as well.
Andrew’s post contains information that has been varified & documented worldwide. plz have look at Corbett report.com c what u think

    • I feel that the virus might follow the lines of Pastor Martin Niemoller’s famous quote from around the time of enormous amounts of deaths of Jews, surplus to requirements.

Niemöller made confession in his speech for the Confessing Church in Frankfurt on 6 January 1946, of which this is a partial translation:
… the people who were put in the camps then were Communists. Who cared about them? We knew it, it was printed in the newspapers. Who raised their voice, maybe the Confessing Church? We thought: Communists, those opponents of religion, those enemies of Christians—”should I be my brother’s keeper?”

Then they got rid of the sick, the so-called incurables. I remember a conversation I had with a person who claimed to be a Christian. He said: Perhaps it’s right, these incurably sick people just cost the state money, they are just a burden to themselves and to others. Isn’t it best for all concerned if they are taken out of the middle [of society]? Only then did the church as such take note.

Then we started talking, until our voices were again silenced in public. Can we say, we aren’t guilty/responsible?

The persecution of the Jews, the way we treated the occupied countries, or the things in Greece, in Poland, in Czechoslovakia or in Holland, that were written in the newspapers. … I believe, we Confessing-Church-Christians have every reason to say: mea culpa, mea culpa! We can talk ourselves out of it with the excuse that it would have cost me my head if I had spoken out.

We preferred to keep silent. We are certainly not without guilt/fault, and I ask myself again and again, what would have happened, if in the year 1933 or 1934—there must have been a possibility—14,000 Protestant pastors and all Protestant communities in Germany had defended the truth until their deaths? If we had said back then, it is not right when Hermann Göring simply puts 100,000 Communists in the concentration camps, in order to let them die. I can imagine that perhaps 30,000 to 40,000 Protestant Christians would have had their heads cut off, but I can also imagine that we would have rescued 30–40,000 million [sic] people, because that is what it is costing us now.
It is about the cowardice of German intellectuals and certain clergy (including, by his own admission, Niemöller himself) following the Nazis’ rise to power and subsequent incremental purging of their chosen targets, group after group.

After the virus has picked off the easy ones, it will work its way along the ages and the vulnerable. All those women who are trying to get an extra few years with their children despite terminal cancer will not be relaxed about it blowing in the wind.

      • +100…YUP Greywarbler….very good points!….and the longer we keep this virus out and our borders closed/heavily quarantined , the better for ALL New Zealanders

I do not believe a vaccination will be the answer to this virus

….but the more understanding that is gained of its nature the better understanding we will have in treatment/counteracting it (overseas it is probably into the second wave now )

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXCF1VlICWY

    • And then there is this:
      https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/300049981/coronavirus-hundreds-of-thousands-of-people-will-need-treatment-for-life-experts-warn

No don’t throw open the borders until there is a vaccine. And only those who have an international micro-chipped corona free card get in to NZ. We are not going back to the way we were. No 5 million tourists a year and cheap temp visa immigrant labour for your coffee slop house. etc etc . Life has changed for the foreseeable future.

    • Andrew your view is narrow and typically right wing ignorance.
You may well learn from China about dealing with the virus.

NZ is currently the envy of most countries with good reason.

  11. Rogernomics is addicted to cheap labour and incoming money being obtained in despicable ways.

From creating a culture of cash workers who seem untouchable from law in NZ and seemingly never successfully prosecuted by police or work safe or IRD like the locals..

“Chinese bricklayer Mao Qunyou had been working cash jobs on-and-off in Auckland since his two-year contract ended with a previous employer late last year.

He said it was hard to find a stable job, which meant when Covid-19 shut most businesses down, he was not entitled to claim the government’s wage subsidy.

He said he was still owed money for cash jobs before the lockdown and hadn’t had an income for weeks.”
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/416133/unemployed-migrant-workers-struggle-amid-covid-19-crisis

While I have some sympathy for his family, it also seems they managed to get a free hold house with a painting business which was most likely obtained with cash payments as they were not legally allowed to work in NZ, but still want to stay in NZ. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12342839

Funny how everyone else who don’t pay IRD are prosecuted, but if you are a migrant you don’t have to pay the money back in reparations even if you have a freehold house. Cash businesses with cash labour are forcing the businesses out of business and lowering other wages and taking youth out of the trades as how do you compete for cash workers when you are expected to have a degree and pay back all your student loans and taxes while competing with legions of others who work for cash no questions asked. Why is illegal cash labour being championed in NZ constantly by left and right wingers?

Another sad tale of another migrant who died on the job working as an illegal labourer. Again makes it a double standard that local employers pay work safe fines and ACC, but zero interest in any prosecutions for this death and prosecuting all those involved in getting this worker to NZ… Again the message is that cash migrant labour is untouchable in NZ and you will get ACC even if you don’t pay any taxes in NZ. https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/118004926/family-of-migrant-worker-who-died-on-the-job-seeks-compensation

Perhaps part of the problem of the in NZ is that increasingly people in NZ don’t want to work low low wage jobs when they can get cash work instead and be on a benefit as well if they qualify, can get hundreds of thousands of new workers each year to pay back wages, or work for slave wages for a couple of years to buy NZ Permanent residency, voting rights, and free benefits going forward!

This Chinese majority owned company with a migrant employee, killed a child, Carla Neems but no prosecution from worksafe when the waste management truck killed her near her own driveway,

The truck had no sensors due to cost (unlike other trucks), to alert known blind spots. The traffic plan was expired. Worksafe did not interview the driver and the drive failed police safety tests post accident. But in spite of this their driver also found not guilty in judge only trial which work safe ‘investigation’ evidence was questioned. https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/112696703/inquest-hears-that-sensor-may-have-saved-girl-killed-by-rubbish-truck

More example of unusually light justice…

(Lets keep smoking going in NZ, to hook the next generation and put more strain on the health system here, another ‘essential’ business propping this country up, sarcasm).

Chinese business man received $33,000 worth of stolen honey and was repackaging it, but only fined $17,500 – sounds like he was still $15,500 better off after being caught.

Likewise, Chinese buyers fined $847k after failing to get consent to buy $5m cliff-top Auckland mansion

    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=12011961

So yep, lets keep opening the borders, creating a pandemic is a small price to pay for making sure that NZ’s cash and illegal Ponzi’s keep going from strength to strengh! Sarcasm.

  12. Funny how our universities are braying for the borders to open for their foreign student money they have come to depend on to pay for their Parnell mansions… Wonder why NZ has such skill shortages, it starts when your questionable university mangers expect students to buy a degree rather than earn it!

I guess they don’t need specialist libraries anymore, foreign students are less interested in the arts, apart from for spying and propaganda reasons and arts are considered useless under Rogernomics – it’s all about selling burgers and essential cigarettes and alcohol in NZ these days! Those are the essential skills we need!!! Sarcasm.

  13. No thanks Helen.
You had your chance. You had nine years to put it right and you completely fucked it up for the rest of us.
That does not give your “opinion” much credibility at all, does it…
