I am growing very tired of the PMs daily election politics on the cvid daily report.
The facts are Govt never ever went hard and fast as Jacinda keeps pedalling. NZ had considerable advance notice of the seriousness of this virus but choose to wait until it hit our shores before acting. Closing of the border did not take place until weeks later when the Govt came under severe pressure. Jacinda is a brilliant communicator but a decisive leader not yet proven.
The Govt had to get agreement with Business NZ, their bankers then the opposition, Police, DHBs, consult with dozens of agencies and form a plan complete with compensations.
How many days that may well take to me implies they started weeks before declaring Level 1.
Look at the graft Preston and calm down.
