In 2026, Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown has seemingly made it his mission to go after Wellington, attacking the Government regularly and even involving himself in spats with ministers.

Brown has feuded with Deputy Prime Minister David Seymour over housing intensification in Auckland, with each accusing the other of attention-seeking stunts, while Housing Minister Chris Bishop has called Brown’s approach to the issue “bombastic”.

The Cabinet was a “nest of vipers,” Brown said in February after the Government made changes to housing legislation that affected Auckland Council, and in May said Wellington MPs should stick to picking up the “lavatory paper they put in the harbour,” referring to a sewage leak in the capital.

Brown’s approach to governing Auckland has caught the attention of many in the political sphere, endearing himself to some, but definitely not to others.

…as someone who has lived my entire life in Auckland, the city is worse now than ever before and the Boomer King, Wayne Brown has not done a fucking thing to make it better.

His performance bitching to central Government is all farting in a gale, they are all mates behind the scenes and all he’s here to do is manage the decline of Auckland in a way that doesn’t disturb property prices of the leafy suburbs while mocking the poor.

He’s worth anywhere between $10 million to $30 million and is just another obnoxious propertied Boomer ZB Troll.

I personally can’t wait for the road pricing via congestion charges come in and Aucklanders who haven’t been paying attention are suddenly forced to pay Wayne’s new road privatisation charges. Oh how I will dance to their screams as they suddenly understand what he has done.

I imagine sometimes the kind of city we could have had if my dear friend Efeso had beaten him.
