I would be happy to donate to both Maori and pakeha initiated NZ buy backs. Anything to keep it in New Zealand hands. To much already has been sold to foreign investors. Most countries have laws protecting their country from overseas buyers….why not us, especially when so many Maori land claims have been unresolved.
It’s a sad state of affairs when Kiwis have to raise money to buy back their own land. But then, I guess this is nothing new for Maori and other indigenous people…….
Last night I was watching and then I thought to myself – I wonder what I’m missing on the other channels? I quickly flicked over to see one reporter feeding a picture of Leonardo Dicaprio a cup of tea and on the other channel, one host trying to make the other eat 1/2 a chilli. I wasn’t missing a damn thing! Now I’m a bit more informed about how this Abel Tasman deal impacts Maori. I will be watching again when I can.
