Smith v Fonterra: Big Polluters Dodged Democracy

Smith v Fonterra was already the climate case that terrified New Zealand’s biggest polluters. Now the private-email stink makes it worse: the people pumping the pollution were apparently whispering in the Government’s ear while the rest of us were told there was nothing to see here.
WTF?
Fonterra legal case doc sent to private email of Luxon’s former staffer
A document relating to the Smith v Fonterra legal case was sent from a Fonterra staff member to the private email address of a former staffer in the Prime Minister’s Office.
It had previously been reported an undisclosed briefing document was provided to the Prime Minister’s office by Fonterra and Z Energy regarding climate activist Mike Smith’s case against those companies and other major emitters.
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said at the time there was no record of the document on file.
Z Energy earlier confirmed to RNZ that it had provided a document to government in 2024 and Fonterra confirmed it had done the same with a hard copy.

So now we know there was an active campaign to hide what the 7 Big Polluters wanted and how they were secretly advising the Government on how to avoid Mike Smith’s legal challenge.
We also know the person involved was a former NZ Initiative Researcher, the NZ Initiative is the right wing think tank that works with Atlas Network and three of the seven big polluters are connected to the NZ Initiative…

…so you have a secret pollution agenda and right wing think tanks colluding to hide their influence and yet Kiwis still prefer to side with these arseholes.
Could you imagine if it was the Left who was doing this?
Could you imagine what the Taxpayers’ Union would be screaming?
Smith v Fonterra and the private-email stink
This corruption is made hilarious because the planet is burning thanks to climate change, the very climate change these 7 big polluters are causing.
Kiwis remain sitting on their hands.
Look at what happened with the changes to law that will allow corporations to get away with pollution spills.
Minister for Pork Barrels, Matua Shane Jones pushed through new rules last week that will allow oil companies to get away with not paying for their pollution spills???
Say it ain’t so!
Five years after taxpayers got left with a $300 million clean-up bill for the abandoned Tui oilfield, Matua Shane Jones weakened the rules put in place to prevent Kiwis being left to foot the pollution clean up bills again.
So why are taxpayers cleaning up after oil companies?
Look.
Dear Right Wing Hate Trolls who vote National, NZ First and ACT
We get it.
You hate da Trans
You hate da Maaaoris
You hate vaccines for the most insane reasons.
You really, really, really hate Jacinda and you believe climate change is all just a big socialist hoax.
We get all that.
What we don’t get is why y’all such simps for Corporations?
You hate like Lions yet you capitulate like lambs.
Let me spell it out for you rednecks.
WHY.
SHOULD.
OIL.
COMPANIES.
BE.
ABLE.
TO.
CAUSE.
MASSIVE.
ENVIRONMENTAL.
DAMAGE.
AND.
NOT.
PAY.
TO.
CLEAN.
IT.
UP.
WHY????
If an oil company who has made enormous profits from pumping our oil causes environmental damage – THEY SHOULD PAY TO CLEAN IT UP!
IS your hate of da Trans, da vaccines, da Māoris and Jacinda so extreme that you’ll agree to pay for an oil company to spill oil and pollute NZ?
If that’s true, girlfriend, you need to go see someone and talk those issues through ’cause that isn’t a political perspective, that’s self mutilation.

The Natz barbecued Claire Curran over a couple of diary failures eventually forcing her resignation.
Where is the accountability on the corrupt lobbying and the blatant obscuring of the activities of the PM’s office and associates? “I didn’t Know” won’t cut it
