Shane ‘Stretch’ Jones needs to define what a taxpayer perk is before he attempts to define a woman
Resources Minister Shane Jones has finally provided some explanation as to why his travel expenses blew out on a trip to Canada in 2025, giving key details, but also lashing out at media for trying to “malign the Matua’s name”.
In an interview on Ryan Bridge Today, some two weeks after Stuff first broke the story about the minister’s trip to Toronto that cost $63,000, Jones explained the use of a ‘limo’, and his flights.
He had initially declined an interview with Stuff, but had provided a few brief comments over time.
He had previously attempted to explain the limo use by reflecting on the weather, “I presume that’s when I was in chilly cold snow blizzard riddled Toronto”.
On Tuesday morning though, he had wanted the story to be over. “Stop laundering these lies,” he said on Ryan Bridge Today.
Matua Shane Jones has described any questions regarding his private limo expenses at a Mining Jamboree as the media, and I quote “laundering lies to undermine him”.
The great Matua went on to claim the media were, and I quote, “breathless hobbits trying to poison the well to stop NZ First from being triumphant”.
Shane ‘Stretch’ Jones as he’s now known, refused to answer any direct questions about his mining cocktail piss up junket and tried to explain away why he had a Limo on stand by for a function right next to his hotel, which was difficult after he initially defended the Limo by claiming there was a blizzard when there is actually no such evidence of snow in Toronto during his trip at all. Instead he said any questions were, and I quote, “falsehoods designed to try and undermine the matua”.
Shane refers to himself in the 3rd person so often he’s had to get a new postal address.
The Matua Matua Matua then claimed the media were trying to malign him just like, and I quote “the left-wing media sought to obstruct Trump’s rise”.
Matua Shane ‘Stretch’ Jones seems to believe that he will skirt scrutiny of his Limo and Cocktail costs after gaining sympathy by recasting himself as Donald Trump?
That’s a bit like Satan wearing a Hitler costume for the Instagram likes.
I think before NZ First define ‘what is a woman’, maybe Shane Jones needs to define what a tax payer funded perk is.

Someone give Pornography Jones a shovel. He seems intent on digging this particular hole ever deeper. Most politicians would have figured out by now that the best course of action in this instance would be to either come clean and wear the indignity being busted, or just shut the fuck up. But Jones? Oh no. He’s so in love with the sound of his own verbal flatulence, he just can’t help himself.
