Now Seymour is threatening schools who share lunch with the poor?
David Seymour is under fire after suggesting schools sharing leftover lunches could be comparable to shoplifting — sparking backlash over child poverty, nutrition standards and the role of schools in supporting vulnerable students.
David Seymour’s school lunch comments spark backlash
Unbelievable.
“People have been committing shoplifting and burglary for a long time; that doesn’t mean the Ministry of Education should encourage it.”
Why comparing food sharing to shoplifting is controversial
David Seymour has come out and threatened schools who donate his corporate slop to hungry people with unspecified legal action by comparing it to shoplifting.
He also had the audacity to criticise donating his corporate slop to the hungry when so many have complained about his corporate slop.
That’s right David, people are so hungry and poor after two years of you in power that they will even eat your corporate slop!
I’m not sure that’s the flex you seem to believe it is.
The real cost of cutting school lunches in New Zealand
The true cost of taking a $8 lunch and reducing it to $3 wasn’t the supposed cash saved, it was the thousands of local jobs and nutritional degradation…
Nutrition standards and what kids actually need
New school lunches don’t give kids enough energy, failing nutrition standards – report
Depending on the age group they were for, the energy level in each meal was between 13% and 17.8% of daily requirements. That should be closer to 30%, the standard in other high-income countries, the researchers said.
What this says about poverty, policy and priorities
…we pay $2.74 to feed prisoners each meal. Seymour is giving our kids 26 cents more and calling that charity!
Don’t give me that, “It’s the parents responsibility to feed their kids’ crap. If you are a man who seriously has a problem with ensuring our kids get a healthy feed at school, hand in your man card now because you aren’t a man, you are a bully.
A bully that likes to bully kids.
Hungry children don’t learn. We feed them, we feed us all.
Threatening schools for donating this food to the hungry is about as low as David Seymour can go.

If feeding hungry children is now treated as wrongdoing, then the real failure isn’t in our schools — it’s in the system that made those meals necessary in the first place.

Seymour is a mean-spirited little bully-boy with no idea whatsoever of what it feels like to be hungry, cold, angry, scared! The healthy lunches provided by the Left are now nothing but SLOP from the Right! How have we bred such uncaring, selfish beings? Can’t call them human, they are beneath that. He is again muddying the waters to distract from his falling poll results which show how unpopular he is. Time to vote him out, return him to Atlas and out of our faces!
