New Epstein Files released during the US war with Iran include explosive allegations involving Donald Trump and a teenage victim, raising questions about timing, accountability and political distraction.

The NZX50 plunged 420 points in one of the biggest single-day drops since Covid, as global markets panic over the escalating US-Israel war with Iran and surging oil prices.

Public broadcasters depend on one thing above all else: trust. But when ministers publicly attack coverage and broadcasters appear to…

Trump’s escalation with Iran risks destabilising the Middle East and sending oil to $150 a barrel. What that could mean for New Zealand fuel prices and global instability.
Yes great discussion. DC a truly great politician…..
Made so much out of his minor portfolio of Land info. As a result an investigation and more staff for the OIO. And gulliable kiwis had their eyes opened to what’s really going on in this country.
I think he is right about JK’s Winz suggestion being a turning point. Here’s hoping.

A great discussion, I recommend to watch this and listen carefully, this government is in my view criminal with the way they run the show.
Thanks Martyn ! One of the best episodes for me. Cunliffe stands out with integrity and intelligence and he is a leader and I have always supported him even through the shit storm he was forced to UNFAIRLY endure.
Nice to hear Bryce Edwards addressing the mistakes of the Natz.
Waatea 5th Estate seems to be one of the rare places to hear good sharing and journalistic commenting as The Nation and Q & A and Native Affairs etc. — are mostly a waste of time and energy anymore.
Glad to see Fran is not on every week ! !
Excellent discussion all round.
Really intelligent insights by David Cunliffe and Nandor Tanczos.
Great questions, hosting and summary by Martin Bradbury.
Interesting to hear Bryce Edwards acknowledge that Manas’ housing policy was right and that National have got it completely wrong.
One of the best episodes yet.
With no one pulling any punches and speaking out on family’s having to live in cars, garages – and the completely out of touch ( and patronizing attitude ) retort about ‘ just wander down to WINZ and they’ll fix you up ‘. Along with the rubbish Bennett tried to spiel about there being 3000 new beds – and the whole travesty about govt demanding a dividend from HNZ , having state houses empty , underfunding and selling off of state housing stock in order to justify privatizing them. Not to mention financially entrapping family’s with unpayable debt from sending them to motels.
And the bullshit we all got told that it was recreational fishers that were causing all the depletion of stock. You would have had to been a complete idiot to have believed that line. Now its been shown the corruption and political duplicity that was really behind it.
The obscenity of tax cuts while so many people are work slaves and the poor paying a massively disproportionate share of the tax burden.
Impressed with David Cunliffe – yet again. He should be Labours leader. Little’s ok but Cunliffe is articulate, thinking of not just what is good for the rich but for all NZ’ers. He certainly does not appear to sound like some sort of far right wing fanatic who puts ideology above people.
Excellent 60th episode.
