All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

Something slightly condescending about Helen Clark describing Tim Shadbolt as “ One of the characters of his generation” Shadbolt was much more than “ a character”. He was a mover and shaker, and he got things done in a way that few do in this cold little antipodean outpost, and agree with him or not, we could benefit more from having more Tim Shadbolts than patronising old Helens.

Reliance on tech systems is being enforced often. It is counter productive for citizen welfare surely. Where goes the sturdy self reliance of yore?
