Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

If the elderly took part in youth society at some appropriate level according to their condition they would fill their heads with thoughts with little room for loneliness. Instead they don’t press for better conditions for the young who are supporting them with taxes often from meagre wages. The children are struggling to find meaning and purpose in life. Oldies could form a grand-grandparents group where an interest is taken in certain families and children who could flower with that interest and a little more advantage. This idea is not new but has not been taken up widely by the self-centred individuals we have become.

Instead oldies are featured in every newspaper and flyer as happy residents of retirement villages, trying to be young and going cycling etcetc. If they can’t manage that they fill the hospital clinic rooms sitting like zombies. But we are not allowed to decide when we are ready to die, we have to wait to be really sick in body and mind before – the right to die as we wish is not to be set in law and with responsible limitations. We are economic units while we are alive and can be influenced to vote in certain useful ways.

If you want to be an engaged oldie and not lonely, then engage yourself. Be grateful for your life and see if you can bring a smile to parents giving life a go with not a great future to look forward to. All our education and past experience hasn’t taught our PTB much; kindly- practicality has been replaced by rapacious razor-trimming of budgets. for efficiency, a she’ll be right attitude!

Everyone is encouraged to specialise in their disciplines, what about the overview?. How to be a pretty good person having a pretty good life requires skills in relating to others and having empathy that go beyond us.

For those who couldn’t read where this beach was see below. I thought a RNZ reporter would know to give prominent accurate location as part of facts.
Karioitahi Beach is a black sand beach located in the southwest of the Auckland region, on the west coast of New Zealand’s North Island. The nearest major town is Waiuku, about 8 km inland.

The maelstrom carries everyone into the deadly centre – again.
Can we use AI to fight out an internet false war taking in the various factors and the immense damage, and then do a sober summation for history? And not fight at all?

With that in mind then can we do something to prevent a virtual handful of men with brains starved of some essential nutrient and electrical responses from when they were babies, finding reasons to justify wars and horror? Remember how love and emotion and irresponsibility-starved are the boys (girls) in Posh Boys, the neglected kids of the rich in the UK. How so many boys receive an education in a military-type institution in the USA. Why does education not turn out more sages and less psychos and myopic money men and women?

Let all those directing a war, perform a ritual hari kiri at the end. That would have dealt to Kissinger, and stop people having another go at any death and mayhem they have caused. Get rid of the kiss of death and aim for better outcomes for the future so that people use their talents for good outcomes. Choose an outcome you want from the films you watch and decide looking at your choice, whether you are destructive in your mind to life on this planet and humanity, or supportive of the whole kaboodle.

To sum up here is Ordinary Things for 2023. Have a look at what has been happening in Argentina.

I think our thinking is too confused and clouded to see things clearly. It has a patina of rust and dust on it that can’t be simply brushed off. It’s time for the naive boy/girl to see that the Emperor actually is not wearing any clothes. It is time to look round for those willing to get out of the comfy chair and work with others who haven’t lost imagination and vision and how to make change without destruction – no ‘Bombing the village in order to save it’ shtick.

Reading Terry Pratchett may give your brain a rest and a new perspective.
    For instance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Only_You_Can_Save_Mankind
Johnny Maxwell finds the future existence of some alien creatures that live on the internet is entirely in his hands. He needs to help them help themselves and overcome the barriers preventing them to reach safety and home.
In 1996, Only You Can Save Mankind was adapted into a three-part radio drama on BBC Radio 4, starring Tim Smith as Johnny.

A Council shelving its job to provide services so they can have wet dreams instead of glamour venues for wealthy visitors. They will likely use facilities that would have once been available to ordinary people but have been improved for the wealthy who buy from wealthy companies set up in NZ so the profit goes out of the country.

Others scoop up any land or business that we build to success in this country. Until we have to turn to foreign wealthy landlords and soup kitchens for our living. The wealthy have made NZ their holiday bach. And invest in henhouses they rent/sell for the people to perch in.

    • Money for glamour venues for wealthy visitors. No money to provide services for ratepayers.

And in this instance, no longer willing to provide low cost housing in a housing crisis.
