If Goodfellow was the answer, what was the question? Big money stamps authority over National Conference

Goodfellow’s re-election as National Party President is a nod that the big money interests inside NZ are getting nervous Labour intend to change things and want their best point man inside National to steer the conversation towards the things they fear most.

The factional dominance of big money Auckland helped inspire a dedicated team of 4 National insiders to help ensure those interests elected Goodfellow and they will want payback.

Expect to hear a lot about the Fair Pay Agreement, big money NZ has a visceral hatred of universal unionism and they want Judith talking about that, not some culture war distraction like a referendum on Aotearoa.

This tightening of power inside National follows Judith’s own tightening of power inside Caucus with her tripping up Nick Smith and exile of Muller all to maintain a naked majority.

You will know big money Auckland is having influence when Judith’s uncompromising vitriol gets turned against the Unions as the Fair Pay Agreement debate starts. Most of Judith’s 7 fixes are economic based and take a wild stab in the dark what her answers will be?

Smashing universal unionism!

Expect dancing Cossacks.

If Judith is toppled as leader, big money Auckland will ensure their interests are still represented.

  1. Few, if any of the feckless seem to be able to ‘read between the lines’. Carter was never the preference and reflects more of the same. Within the next 24 months there will be a new president amongst the new elected board members. That is the plan as it’s not feasible to elect a president from someone not already told n the board.

Unless something drastic occurs there will be a change. The feckless would be able to pick that up if they had done their job as opposed to focussing on Bridges’ hairdo.

      • Careful Bertie. Bridges is Maori and you have referred to him as an Ape. This is hate speech under your glorious leader’s plan.

        • Ackshully it is you who referenced him as Maori, so by reference you are racist which aligns with your glorious leader.
Or do you believe we evolved from the mighty flying invisible wizard, because Bwiges moves may have been as the result of that Fwankie.

          • Lol. Off to the gulag for re-education for you Bertie. The above is hate speech for the Wokeborg.

              • No seriously though fellas I could not get my head around the dancing techniques that Simon used. Can anyone explain it to me? First, the legs were spread in a form of what I can only call ‘vertical manspreading’ and he clomped around the stage as if he was trying to take up as much space as possible. Was this some kind of spatial power play? Is it normal for younger men (younger than me anyway) to ‘dance’ like that? Is it a thing? Or a thing? I am confused.

  2. If the present National Party lineup is the result of big money it proves capitalists are not clever.
How about a bunch of dinosaurs who see the ACT asteroid in the sky but cannot change?
Come on National do a 180 and go socialist! ( After all Labour did the same thing in reverse).

  3. I don’t know if big money have much to worry about. And secretly the last thing they want is mad Judith.

Apart from some eye rolling typically annoying social engineering legislation every one knows Labour do, they are not going to scare the horses.

And even if they had some elaborate secret plan to head toward socialism this government couldn’t organise and egg and spoon race if their lives depended on it.

About the most they have to be concerned about is stagnation.

  4. Yeah so what is Nationals policies for our Nurses, is it bring in hundreds of foreign Nurses still like they did last time, and let out public hospitals rot.

  5. About h.te speech, and thinking of questioning Bridges abilities, I had a go at Seymour the other day on TS and was informed by some eager beaver that he had Maori antecedents and whakapapa implying I thought, that I should not write any critical thing about him, perhaps without asking him first. Let the last thinking,
analytical person leaving NZ please turn out the light!

And the snappy title to this post is good Martyn. Made me smile, my doctor recommends that one should do so at least once a day in our current climate (and particularly if the electricity goes down).

  6. The rich people in New Zealand want another Labour term to further consolidate their wealth.
Is there anybody in NZ who cares for the poor seriously think Jacinda Ardern and her Government will look after them?
Gosh the wealthy in NZ have thrived in their wealth increase in four years under labour by a huge margin following nine years under National.
Right wing so called rich people will vote Jacinda Ardern because she provides the best environment for them.
It’s an outrage if you are genuinely left wing.
