Why Simeon Brown sums up all that is wrong in National

Look, I don’t wish to be cruel to Simeon Brown, he is after all a human being with all the rights to be respected from being a member of our collective species b-u-t the fact he is such a dominant voice and is one of the most recognisable MPs inside National is in of itself evidence of how politically irrelevant National has become.

His basic bitch arguments, his baby like face and his limited intellect combine to highlight the total lack of quality candidates National are now left with.

(Spoiler alert) With Mark Mitchell about to quit for a tilt at the Auckland Mayoralty and Todd Muller being forced out of his electorate seat, Judith has a limited window to urgently parachute in new blood for the 2023 election.

The problem is that National’s candidate selection under Peter Goodfellow is a train wreck and they are left with baby faced invalids like Simeon Brown whose appeal outside of religious rest homes and people who think evolution is a socialist scam happens to be remarkably limited.

You look at a Party as a Government in waiting, any Government that would allow Simeon to be a Minister is not worth defending.

The only way National can win in 2023 is if Labour are seen as incompetent during a Covid break out or if the Hate Speech laws trigger a tsunami of woke vengeance attacks.

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. To be fair he would do a better job than the current mental midgets in charge of Police and Corrections.

  2. What if National did a complete 180 degree turn and became the party with a socialist agenda? What if they proposed nationalisation of important assets like water, electricity, transport? What if they told Rio Tinto to fuck off and take their toxic waste with them? ( we can run the smelter ourselves and do a better job of it). What if they told the foreign owners of New Zealand farmland and industries that this belongs to the public and we are taking it back? ( We could offer compensation to people who need it but I do not think Peter Theil and James Cameron are short of a bob).
If you think this is impossible because of the National Party’s philosophy can I remind you that in 1984 New Zealanders elected a Labour Party believing they were voting for a socialist party and found out almost overnight they had voted for a wolf in sheep’s clothing?
In doing so we replaced this country’s last socialist prime minister – the National Party’s Rob Muldoon.

  3. Can anyone really believe the Ardern government is doing a good job?
New Zealand has never been so divided despite Arderns promise we are here to govern for all New Zealanders.
The rich have become considerably more rich and the poor considerably more poor.
