  1. Let’s face it, Tomorrow’s schools and all he Rogernomic reforms have not been successful. There has been some good points with more acceptance of children with special needs and looser environment and different kids, but on the flip side what is offered to these and most kids in NZ (based on results) is not working. Schools have accept more kids difference which is great, but haven’t moved to help the kids to actually increase their academic results, so for education, that is a failure. Charter schools for many years was a disaster with the worst of both worlds/ideologies operating.

Obsession with open plan classrooms and construction of more schools rather than the actual curriculum, having multiple teachers teaching different parts in a ‘uni’ style environments for primary kids doesn’t work for most kids, lack of standard curriculum and teaching plans for NZ, workplace safety and woke concerns of danger with the liability on personal teacher and principals (absurd) and created a school culture in NZ more concerned with paper pushing than learning.

They need to marry up both styles, traditional style learning with set curriculum in the morning, with a looser creative side in the afternoons would be an easy fix than thinking ‘academic hubs’ and more Rogernomic turned woke remedy, will do anything but throw petrol on a broken system.
