The Super El Nino is coming – is NZ ready for climate denial bingo?
Here is the problem for the Government.
They are so compromised by their relationship with the big polluters that when the Super El Niño peaks in NZ this summer, voters will be in shock and fury and looking for someone to blame.
That someone will be National, ACT and NZF.
Their climate denial pandering to their polarised redneck electorate will look very different to the majority who believe in the science of climate change in the wake of what’s coming, so let’s build our own climate denial bingo every time we hear this.
5 of the 7 Big Polluters named in Mike Smith’s legal case are linked to the NZ Initiative and the Senior Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister, whose prior job was Researcher for the NZ Initiative, specified secret means of receiving their policy requests which were almost word for word what National did.
This Government has waged a war on the environment.
They have bent over backwards for the polluters and put their interests above the collective good.
They have disestablished the Ministry for the Environment and have softened Methane standards.
They reap what they sow.
You should calm down and stop panicking, Martyn. The latest UN prediction is for 1.1 degrees increase over the next 75 years. That’s about a tenth of a degree every six years. ( see Barry Brill’s article in Breaking Views.) we should easily be able to cope with this increase which is considerably less than the U N panic merchants were pushing before.
What a load of shit. There is nothing we can do that will make any difference, running around in a hair shirt beating ourselves with a stick is monumentally stupid, half arsed law suit from the permanently whiny is a joke. Very pleased it has been squashed.
I get that you don’t believe that other people can have a valid opinion regarding the environment although refusing to listen to what they want to say is not how knowledge is increased. You stay in the bubble of ignorance that keeps you happy although don’t be surprised when other deluded people combine to force you to follow whatever dopey explanation they come up with for the climate troubles.
