No post on the local body election results yet, I note. That is a bit disappointing, but I trust it will come tomorrow.
Auckland had Goff win as expected, by a large margin ahead of Crone, and Chloe Swarbrick even beating Palino to come third, which is impressive. Penny Bright has dropped compared to earlier elections, she should perhaps rather focus on activism pure now, and leave aspirations for high office to others.
But with the low participation we get much of the same, vested interest holding lobby groups and business sectors and the elite will be satisfied, business as usual.
That though is not what I would wish for, so the fight continues to remind the self serving lot at the top and at the helm what is truth and what lies they tell us all too often.

‘Dangerous escalation’

“The downward spiral continues with no end in sight. A dangerous escalation in tensions separating Russia and the West can be witnessed in a decline in diplomatic engagement, particularly concerning Syria.”
CrossTalking with Ray McGovern, Earl Rasmussen, and Vladimir Golstein.
Chooky,
I reckon US wants to use Syria as a strategic military base in the Gulf so they can control all the region for energy and strategic power, nothing more.
Today US is a corrupt power ever since china took over as the most powerful economy.
Just clutching at straws.
