We get it, rich people want to live on the waterfront – how ‘visionary’
The utter denial needed to think that a decades long re-creation of our waterfront minus any extreme weather events or rising sea levels is so outside the realities we need to actually plan for now it should be held up as proof positive of how flawed our planning process has become.

On A Potential Future For The Commonwealth
Slightly odd thought (which requires further development): The Commonwealth is at something of a crossroads at present, and understandably so. After all, it’s never truly made a ‘proper’ transition from a sort of vestigial “ashes of empire” into a properly multi-national bloc on any but a talking-shop level.

In a culture where micro-aggression policing occurs on social media networks fuelled by outrage, the ability to take offence and bloat it into a war crime means we are often left defensive and resentful in response which feeds the algorithms and Mark Zuckerberg makes another billion.
