Sooo, what the CRL are really saying is…

Aucklanders were told to live near public transport, ditch their cars and embrace a modern city. Instead, many got gridlock, unfinished infrastructure and a City Rail Link project that still doesn’t appear ready for full operation years after it was meant to open.
Like a chump I forwent owning a car because I decided to live near public transport hubs and do the right thing.
What a bad idea that was.
Auckland has been gridlocked because of mass immigration policies forced upon us by Central Government while no one built the infrastructure.
Look at ‘Sunfields’, it’s built upon a flood plain with no infrastructure and it only gained fast tracked access because the developer donated huge amounts of money to the Minister – that is what central government mass immigration policies create.
Has Auckland’s infrastructure completely failed population growth?
The CRL Train station I moved next to so my daughter could catch the train to her school has been closed for her entire time at that school, indeed I believe she will graduate before that fucking Train station reopens.
We are useless at building anything in NZ because we are always a day late and dollar too short. We have subcontracted all our obligations out to neoliberal management practices whose only focus is on the cheapest deal, not the best public service.
We have been promised the CRL will open this year, but it’s fucking years late and you have to fish through all the bullshit these companies use to hide their failure.
Take the latest on the actual opening date…
CRL opening update expected in weeks as fuel crisis adds pressure
…it’s a bullshit piece.
What they are in fact admitting for the first time is that not only do we still not have a clear opening date, they will be running a limited schedule for six f**king months!
Is the CRL actually ready to open?
Look at the way they slip that in..
Officials ‘confident’ in temporary six month timetable
…oh you are confident are you?
Here’s what I am confident about.
You won’t actually open until November and it will be such a limited schedule it won’t actually help.
Also money on the table that when the first heavy downfall of rain caused by climate change will flood it and engineers will be dragged before TV screens to tell us that hadn’t planned on that level of rainfall or heat or etc etc etc.
I know I will die before a second harbour bridge ever opens, I will die before a train connects the North shore and I will be long dead and buried before public transport is free.
This city and this country can never get its act together ever.

“Auckland has been gridlocked because of mass immigration polices forced upon us by Central Government”.
Mass immigration policies by Labour pandering to its India constituency and National pandering to its China constituency.
There are 160 countries in the world. Why do 4 immigrants in 10 come from India and 3 in 10 come from China. Why are National and Labour forcing unbalanced overimmigration on Kiwis?Labour need to let people know there will be an unbalanced overimmigration reset (stop). Otherwise there is going to be more and more third world shit like this open political bribery https://youtu.be/LzHJdlhVn94 and this https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/360942539/how-cash-driver-licence-bribery-scandal-unravelled-and-why-public-wasnt-told
Didn’t the Chinese build that big skyscraper downtown that now lies in a state of disrepair?
100% Martyn.
And we still have all those pesky potholes and terribly offensive orange road cones.
Neoliberal Nz makes me laugh so hard that I eventually start crying.
That CRL is going to bankrupt Auckland for all of 37 people using it. All that money should have gone in replacing the lanes and modernising the upper structure of the harbour bridge. Because when that thing fails, and one day it will, Auckland and NZ will be fucked. Dumb waste of money that CRL.
Short answer – they should have contracted a Chinese company to build it. Not only would it have been completed much quicker, it would also have been a hell of a lot cheaper. if you don’t believe me, look at the incredible infrastructure construction in China, both rail and road.
Yeah it’s amazing what you can achieve with billions of taxpayers, ay! We’ve only got like…75 people who pay tax and you’re probably one of them I assume.
Nicola would have cancelled it like she did to the ships (I know that Korea and China are different) as jobs/profit at any price for their donars is more important to them than a reliable public service.
Chump.
No good deed goes unpunished.
