Despite recommendations from the Royal Commission of Inquiry calling for an independent compensation process, the Government has created a system where survivors must seek redress from the very state that failed them.

Martyn argues this undermines accountability, limits compensation, and leaves many survivors questioning whether the Government’s apology was ever genuine.
