God save the Thief!

Winston Peters was in the room just before Trump backed down. Imagine if New Zealand had used that moment to speak with principle instead of crawling.

Same voices. Same outrage. Same targets. Why does every Taxpayers’ Union campaign seem to land on Māori?

Sandra Grey is giving the union movement something it has lacked for years: urgency, clarity and political bite. And with the fuel crisis escalating, that matters.
We built Fonterra to protect New Zealand. Now it’s selling off the future and telling us to be grateful for the payout.

If justice depends on what you can afford, it isn’t justice. And New Zealand is getting dangerously close to that line.

We keep pretending each disaster is a one-off. It’s not. And if the AMOC collapses, “unprepared” won’t even begin to cover it.
In memory of Queen Elizabeth ll who got on with what must have been a difficult role with many problems and disappointments despite all her money and lovely surroundings – good advice on how to live your royal individuality enjoying the gifts of freedom and beauty available to you.
Too many here a sad number of semi-professional moaners and vitriolic hate-bearers. Full of your own pontificating and if you do anything useful in this world it is with a bad will. None of us was born with a guarantee that life was to be a bed of roses, and even those who have found themselves amongst roses, find most of them have thorns. So try making the best of your own lives, noting how awful you and all humans can be at times, and try to help those making things better with positives more than criticisms. I guarantee you will feel better for a while each time. Otherwise you make life so bloody depressing for others.

Robert Jr. McFerrin says:
Now there, is this song I wrote
I hope you learned note for note
Like good little children, don’t worry, be happy
Now listen to what I said, in your life expect some trouble
When you worry you make it double
But don’t worry, be happy, be happy now
This story reminds me of how Pakeha here say they weren’t around when the TOW was signed and they haven’t benefitted from us being colonised when they clearly have.
Covid is Pa. Nor were you here during New Zealand’s early days and yet you heap vitriol upon contemporary non-Maori Kiwis, and you intimidate for alleged happenings not done to you or by them.
You received a university education which you may not have otherwise had, and in fact you are lucky that colonials put an stop to the barbarism of cannibalism, or you mightn’t be here at all.
Harsh judgments about Queen Elizabeth based on very selective events from past history don’t wash.
The Brits are good at presenting themselves as doughty fighters, as saviours to the unknowing masses, etc. Having a recognisably good person as a symbol to mass behind has magnetic results. Brit was founded on piracy and hypocrisy, fracture it and start a schism that will finish what climate change has wrought.
“ The light shineth in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend.” RIP Queen Elizabeth.
Than you for everything, Ma’am. RIP.
‘ God save the thief.’ Thus spoke Meghan Markle, NY Times, NZ wokes.
Bad taste. She’s not even buried yet. Plus many rocks were acquired from European kingdoms and dynasties that fell after WWI & WWII and those who held them sought British protection, gifts from other dynasties etc, all pre-QEII. Just saying. RIP
Queen Elizabeth 11 Redeemer RIP
