  1. NZ’s top CEO Mr C Luxon saw written on a Weetbix packet that manure helps grow green shoots so he instructed his cabinet and all party donors to talk faster more often.

  2. It really is just a crackpot cult, the religious zealotry of it all.

“Green shoots”, “growth” preached like some crass, materialistic version of the imminent arrival of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Every time these stale slogans are lazily slopped out, one just loathes them more.

Even the mention of the “economy” is gaining connotations of something like an invisible god, ever more detached from the experience one faces in reality.

  3. Once and for all, THERE ARE NO GREEN SHOOTS!

Only fools and those wealthy and sorted believe so.

  4. Another ‘CON’ job but this time from one of our major Banks! What is wrong with these people – do they hate the working class so much that they have to continually keep sticking their knives into them? Hope is a wonderful thing, but unless you have sufficient wealth in NZ at present, there is NO HOPE! Imagine, if the Left was in the same position as this absymal CoC, it would be all doom and gloom from the ASB et al. It’s bad enough having so much of our smug media continually pushing the wealthy down our throats. Luxon did a really DUMB thing when he went in – he gave the property industry the bulk of his funding without ever thinking he may need it further on. It’s as simple as that and I bet he regrets that decision. But if you want to take bribes then you are going to end up having to pay for them! All the Left need to do here is continue to bring in policies that help the needy AND our country and keep spreading β€œreal hope” of a recovery. We don’t need or want any more unrealistic, irresponsible Con Artists!!!

  5. The thought police will just find something else to blame for the unfortunate weather or other disasters instead of admitting that we have overloaded the planet by our over-consumption.

  6. And overnight, if news on the internet is to be believed, the Iran deal is off, Trump called them scum, the usa attacked ‘military targets’, and oil jumped back up. I don’t think we can expect ‘normal trading’ or ‘green shoots’ any time soon.
