The new Cook Strait ferries will be named Kupe and Cook, and Minister for Rail Winston Peters says “snivelling wokesters” will “work themselves into a lather” over the latter.

Let’s call them ‘Winnie’ and ‘Pooh’ for all I care!
Our issue is not the names of these non existent Ferries, our issue is that you tore up the original Ferry deal that was cheaper, rail enabled and would have been here by now!
What we get instead are smaller ferries, more expensive ferries, ferries that are mot rail enabled and WON’T TURN UP FOR 3 MORE YEARS!
Pretending we are angry about what dumb names he gives these ships is Trumpian level distraction!
No one cares what name he’s given them, we care they are more expensive, smaller, can’t handle rail freight straight onto it and ARE NOT HERE!
How dumb are we as a country if we allow Winston to manufacture a woke war to eclipse his Government’s economic vandalism!

Whats the point of naming something that does not exist .All I want to know is what they will cost and when will they get here .Reading between the lines we will not be owning them and they will be privately run after a short time under Kiwi rail .The dumb media were building it up as a massive announcement from the government as though they would be telling us the price .A total waste of media time .

This is what amateur hour looks like ! A Ferry named Cook… sailing on Cook Strait to Wellington just 2 1/2hours drive south of Cooks Gardens in Whanganui. and 8 hours drive south of Cooks Beach and 12hours Drive North of Mt Cook…
