MEDIAWATCH: Seymour plays Temu Trump by attacking RNZ on The Platform

David vs the media: Has Seymour gone too far?
A law professor and a media expert say David Seymour has gone too far in public attacks against RNZ and TVNZ.
They’ve warned jabs at the media will continue as the election draws closer, and could erode public trust.
The deputy Prime Minister and ACT Party leader spoke to The Platform last week, taking swings at both state broadcasters’ management.
He criticised the appointment of RNZ’s Morning Report host John Campbell and suggested RNZ’s chief executive Paul Thompson could lose his job, adding “it’s really critical that we are ensuring that we get better people on the board, and those people will change the management.”
He also accused TVNZ of being “politically motivated”.
Seymour is a shareholding minister in both RNZ and TVNZ, and the law says ministers cannot give direction to the state broadcasters.
The extraordinary attack on RNZ by shareholding minister David Seymour in a highly critical interview of the editorial standards at RNZ on a hard right hate vehicle like The Platform is like Trump going on Fox News to complain about the Washington Post.
This is how public broadcasting gets bullied
It is jaw dropping what the Right will allow in this country.
If it was the Left attacking the editorial decisions of public media that was critical of them, the NZFirst and ACT Party Hate Trolls would be screaming, but they do it and it’s David bravely facing off against the Ministry of Woke.
RNZ is one of our most important public broadcasters, does their middle-class wanky culture bullshit make my eyes roll? Sure do.
Let’s not forget, I was banned for life from RNZ for supposedly defaming John Key, so I am no fan of their censorship of opinions they don’t like, but attacking a journalist of the calibre of John Campbell and pushing to punish board members for hiring him is what an authoritarian regime does, not a liberal progressive democracy.
Trump attacks the media for malicious, spiteful gain; David is attempting to be a Temu Trump by attacking public broadcasting on hard-right hate platforms like The Platform.
Free speech for me, punishment for thee
The Right in NZ are such hypocrites, they champion free speech but when it comes to actually protecting free speech, they are the first to burn the books.

I also notice, such is my keen eye for bullshit, the seymour and Aunty John are sitting in front of flags of the Union Jack and emblems depicting Maori standing beside the Crown glued to each podium so in these urgent times has no one asked the Gov General for her opinions of our catastrophic state of affairs. She is, after all, our Head of State as The King’s representative.
On 21st of March 2013 I received a letter from the crown, from a * Mrs Sonia Bonici in response to concerns I was having about the future of our AO/NZ and this is what she wrote: ” I have, therefore, been instructed to forward your letter to the Governor-General of New Zealand so that he may be aware of your approach to The Queen and may consider the points you raise. ”
* Senior Correspondence Officer.
My point is, if we don’t ask we won’t get. We need a public, royal commission of inquiry up and into every fuming arse hole who’s ever sat and is sitting in OUR parliament buildings making decisions re our futures in these troubling times.
To begin with, where are those Kirk dickriders that were screaming “freedom of speech” and “debate me bro”?
They’re the demographic attracted to the Associates of Child Touchers but are curiously quiet about this.
As for Seymour, what a piss weak crybaby. He has always spoken about winning in the “marketplace of ideas” but can’t tolerate the slightest bit of criticism.
Too cowardly to front up to non sycophants.
Too openly dishonest and hypocritical to front hard questions.
What did Seymour have to say when Kiri Allan criticized TVNZ staff?
“When then-Cabinet minister Kiri Allan criticised RNZ’s culture and treatment of Māori staff at a work farewell for her partner Māni Dunlop – the former host of Midday Report – Seymour told RNZ Allan should have remembered she is always on duty.
“There is a real problem when the people who hold the purse strings aren’t absolutely critically cautious about even the perception of interfering with media,” Seymour said. “Nobody loses their democracy all at once, it’s always a thousand little chips and we don’t want to see them. It’s good she’s apologised, but I can’t believe she did it.”

Bob / Trev… Any comment on the hypocrisy?
A reminder that it’s just over a decade since National and ACT aligned shitbags on the Mediaworks board axed Campbell Live.
After Campbell provided more than a decade of excellent and award winning public interest journalism such as:
Exposing the homelessness crisis created by John Key. It directly led to Paula Bennett creating the transitional housing scheme. That’s right bitches, remember thats Paula’s policy and was introduced by National.
Years of dedicated coverage of the Christchurch community in the wake of the earthquakes. Providing people with a voice and exposing the omnishambles created by Brownlee. The rampant fraud, the EQC bullshittery, the “building inspectors” who weren’t but did go to the right school and knew the right people.
Showing John Key to be a serial hair molester, especially the hair of young girls. Anyone checked the Epstein Files for Keys name?
Exposing the meth testing fraud and how Mike Sabin was neck deep in profiting from it (and allegedly balls deep in an underage individual).
Keeping the pressure on Key while he lied about 5 Eyes and the GCSB.
And that’s just a sample.
Any wonder Seymour wants to get rid of him.
Well I know that Seeless has refused to go on morning report and this is our state bankrolled public radio and I think he should have to front up.
How come NZ has such a narcissistic CoC full of toxic ‘windbags’ like Seymour, Jones, Luxon et al, who believe the rules the rest of us live under, don’t apply to them? These are some of the people who insisted Labour sack Michael Wood because he didn’t get around to getting rid of a few shares that were considered a ‘conflict of interest’! It’s a joke when much of this CoC are up to their necks in ‘conflicts of interest’. WAKE UP NZ RIGHT you are being played for FOOLS! No wonder NZ’s economy is in such a perilous and worsening state of decline. There aren’t and won’t be any green shoots to save them. They are doomed from their self-inflicted actions, egos and dimwittedness!
