Gaza‘s growing death, injury and sickness

The total numbers of killed and wounded, in Gaza by Israel, since 7 October 2023 are: Killed 71,562 and Wounded 171,379.
Since the start of the Gaza ‘ceasefire’ the Israeli Occupation has killed 477 Palestinians and injured 1,301.
The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 85 and, that of those injured, more than 204. A UN reportstates that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.

Between 19 and 22 January, airstrikes, shelling and gunfire continued to be reported across the Gaza Strip, particularly east of Jabalya in North Gaza, south-east of Gaza city, in northern and eastern Deir al Balah, east and south of Khan Yunis and west of Rafah.
Recent adverse weather, including heavy storms, continues to impede access to education. Over the past week, five TLSs were impacted – three in Deir al Balah, one in Khan Yunis, and one in Gaza city – affecting 3,346 school-aged children. While efforts are ongoing to repair damaged tents, there remains an urgent need for adequate quantities of high‑performance tents, which provide better resilience to severe weather.
Most of the population in Gaza remains displaced, with some 1.3 million people estimated to be sheltering in over 970 sites, the majority of which are located in Deir al Balah and Khan Yunis. Read more . . .
What Israel really wants for Gaza
Israel has spent more than two years attacking Gaza in its genocidal war on the Palestinian enclave. It has destroyed the majority of its housing and infrastructure, and killed more than 70,000 Palestinians, leaving the rest of Gaza’s population facing a harsh winter with inadequate food, medicine and shelter.
And yet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – for whom the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for war crimes committed in Gaza – this week joined US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace”, established to oversee the reconstruction and governance of Gaza. West Bank
Since 24:00 on 7 October 2023, Israeli Occupation forces have been imposing a complete closure on the West Bank, preventing residents and other permit-holders from neither entering nor leaving. The Israeli military also imposes severe and highly variable travel restrictions on all residents.
Israeli Army attack – home invasions: Jerusalem – 18:45, Israeli Occupation forces, firing live ammunition, rubber-coated bullets, stun grenades and tear gas canisters, on the main road opposite the Qalandiya refugee camp, caused several tear gas casualties.
Israeli Army – 1 wounded: Hebron – 21:40, Israeli forces, firing live ammunition, raided the town of Dura, wounding and hospitalising a resident: Ayham Mahmoud Naji Al-Taweel Al-Masharqa.
Home invasions – stun grenades fired: Jerusalem – 14:15, Israeli Occupation forces, firing stun grenades, raided the town of Biddu and invaded several homes.
Home invasions: Ramallah – 05:10, Israeli forces raided the village of Budrus, storming and searching several homes.
Home invasions and Occupation in refugee camps: Tulkarem – Since January 28, Israeli Occupation forces have continued their incursions into the city as well as the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, occupying homes for use as military outposts.

Israeli police and settlers’ mosque violation: Jerusalem – 08:00, Israeli settlers, escorted by Occupation police, invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and molested worshippers.
Israeli Army violence and injury: Ramallah – 18:35, a resident of Beit Liqiya, Yahya Musa Muhammad Al-Hadidi, was severely beaten-up and hospitalised by Israeli forces.
