No, we still need those who are willing to preach from and live by the texts that Martyn has quoted above. We still need to believe in the value and the possibility of loving kindness to all humanity. Of course hypocrites will try to associate themselves with the Christian message. That is what hypocrites do. As De La Rochefoucauld said, hypocrisy is the tribute that vice pays to virtue. Just as a dog attracts fleas, the Christian congregation attracts hypocrites. We don’t judge the dog by its fleas. Instead we just need to periodically give it a good wash.
Francis d’Assisi was the complete antithesis of Luxon the Sorted, renouncing the privilege and worldly goods by which Chris defines himself. Brown must be gutted now that the previous governments efforts to lower the road toll have proven to be working with our road toll now lower than AUS on a per capita basis .Then we were also presented an international award for our efforts to improve road safety which he rejected because it flew in the face of his speed obsession .Clearly the ten year plan ,road to zero was begining to have the desired effect and the safety improvements that Labour invested some of that so called wasteful spending in is clearly paying dividends .At least the spend in places like the Dome valley north of Warkworth cant be reversed to allow the carnage on that piece of road to resume .
