Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. For people who love charts and coloured tables and scientific stuff:

…”[In] 2022, we had a lot of what we call tremor vibrations that went on for days and days, weeks and weeks, and that was the highest in 20 or 30 years. And to be honest, I thought we were going to get an eruption but nothing happened – it died away and everything went back to normal.

Could someone make a short film about this food heist something like Came a Hot Friday? It’s not funny at all but talking seriously about anything important to get a rational concern in response, calls for reversal perhaps. The serious things you would laugh at, and the humorous things you hold protests, rallies and po-faced committee meetings on! There would be method in our madness. We would check first though on Sun Tzu’s writings to find an appropriate wisdom.

  3. A sport and an artist. We need to find ways to express our talents and hone our skills, or AI will start interpreting them for us and like drongoes we will let it.
From water to air with the same ‘easy’ grace.

Rising ballet star and teen swimming sensation Hamish Giddens has mastered the art

And I like the sound of this:

Company of Elders – what NZ/AO and the known world is crying out for – Elders that have far- sight within their minds and a willingness to abandon leisurely decay, tourism or gardening.as the appropriate way to utilise all the extra days and years that good care and pharmaceutical aids and operations can assist with longer lives. Giving as well as taking where it is most needed by the new generations would be a great way of ensuring a moral future with something to offer for everyone.

  4. My dear 90-something customer today is beginning to forget a lot of things, like the name of the PM her pa idolized (MJ Savage!) but she treated me with very slow versions of old popular tunes like ‘Hello , Dolly’ on her piano as I worked around the house. I felt like asking if she could do ‘chopsticks’.

We got on to the popularity of cards in the day. Her pa and ma invited neighbours over, in the era of Savage. But it always ruined the evening when politics came into it with one neighbour — a shoe repairman (!) who voted for National.

She seems, despite her difficult Depression era childhood, to have a downer on her Pa’s opinions. Too rigid maybe. Too rigid certainly.

I think NZ Post should reduce their management staff. Some of them are having to think up ideas to keep themselves occupied. Sometimes it does pay to keep some;thing that isn’t broke going without constant fiddling. Has NZ Post got any wings left now or have they all been pulled off?

Don’t take the posties off. They serve who only zip around in viz vests . A two layer system of posties and couriers surely isn’t too hard for the kiddies in the management tower to cope with. I think those towers are too high and the air is getting rarified.
Handy tip – It’s only fire stations that need high towers for drying their hoses.
