National’s Chris Bishop blasts letter from Free Speech Union, asks to ‘cancel my membership’

The Free Speech Union (FSU) says it’s written to Leader of the House Chris Bishop to share its concerns about the Government’s repeated use of “urgency” in its first 100 days in power.

But Bishop wasn’t impressed.

The FSU posted its letter on X, which firstly congratulated the Government, before letting rip.

“We acknowledge there are circumstances where expeditious action needs to be taken by the Government, however, we question whether the amount of time Parliament spent in urgency in the past 100 days was justifiable”.

The FSU also said bills passed under urgency get less scrutiny from MPs and the public, and can become law without going through the full Select Committee process.

“Further, the Government has not been mandated explicitly to pass legislation which was not included in the policy manifestos of any of the three parties in Government,” the letter said.

“Is this a joke? Please cancel my membership,” Bishop responded.

Jesus I love this, it’s like a death match between a Dalek and a Republican in that you aren’t sure who to cheer for but just hope both kill each other.

Chris Bishop is a first class arsehole and the Free Speech Union’s twitter feed comes across like an angry 19 year old Incel who hasn’t masturbated for 48 hours.

FSU is a Zionist front for right wing culture war memes where as Bishop is a Zionist supporter who is a front for Big Tobacco.

Watching them have a public screaming match on Twitter over free speech is so funny and hot and I hope this continues until Winston steps down and calls a snap election.

Keep fighting FSU!

Keep fighting Chris Bishop!

Keep. Fighting. Clowns.

  1. Ditto your description of Chris Bishop.
I met him and a few parliamentary candidates in a meeting with a professional organisation after his first term in parliament and coming up to an election. I asked him a question which he could not answer on the spot. He took my business card with a promise to get back to me with an answer.
I am still awaiting his response, years on.
    A dishonest and untrustworthy person.

  2. C Bishop is already looking tired and drawn. If I have to look at unsuitable and untrustworthy people as politicians I still would rather look at Winston. It’s the main reason he is still up there on the podium.
