The Liberal Agenda: 50th Birthday

The esteemed Tim Selwyn and I have known each other since we were 16 and have been best friends ever since.

Tim is the last New Zealander to be charged with sedition and blogs weekly here on TDB, combined we represent a century of attempting revolution against the NZ state.

Over the weekend we celebrated our 50th Birthday with a large range of friends and co-conspirators for laughter, drinking and plotting.

Clarke couldn’t come because he was ion his honeymoon, Jack Tame was getting married and John Campbell was out of town, but we had the political spectrum represented from NZ First, Green, Labour, Maori Party, National and ACT.

As the photos will attest, I was very drunk by the time of the photos.

Our cake was a homage to socialism and Māori Nationalism…

…but hilariously the company that made our Socialist Māori Nationalist Celebration Cake went into receivership to libertarian Damien Grant and he ended up repossessing a slice of it.

Capitalism is funny.

Here’s to another 50 years.
