Public apology to David Seymour
Again David we are deeply sorry for misquoting you yet again in the media, Nelson Mandela was not the person you were referring to as someone who would have endorsed your life’s work but in fact another Nelson, Nelson Muntz from The Simpsons. We apologise for this mistake.
The larger issue in that report is what Seymour said about putting more people in jail. Saying it was ACT’s policy to put more people in prison, which he said was “some of the best money you can spend”.
It would be far more wiser to address the drivers of crime opposed to merely putting more people in jail.
Without addressing the drivers of crime, another crim (or more) will pop up to take the place of every crim put in jail. It will become a never ending cycle.
Moreover, our jails need to be improved upon (see links below) before we even consider putting more people into that current mess.

Our direction is medieval especially our prison treatment. And we definitely are in a cycle, of a downward spiral, – which calls to mind a possible panacea – as the joke goes – ‘ trick-cyclists’.

I’ve had some pruning and tidying done to keep my square of garden in order, only with the 15% GST on top of the charge for the skilled tradesman, the government is raking off $55
and the tip fee for greenwaste is $75 (possibly that high because of Eugenie Sage’s bright idea that if tip fees went up there would be less rubbish to tip. So every move I make the gummint is sort of fining me. Doesn’t compute.
This level of GST is what was being charged in Switzerland last century, but they were a more effective economy than ours. It is an increasing burden in this artificially controlled inflation system we have, with our most expensive purchase housing, somehow only fractionally appearing.
The problem with see more butt is he is under pressure from Winston Peters and NZF making massive ground on the ground.
He knows, Luxon wants Winston in to keep Act on a chain as a buffer.
Without NZF in the house, National will have trouble controlling Seemorebutt and at the extreme might have to pull the plug one day to call for another election if Seemorebutt gets his way.
