Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist language, homophobic language, racist language, anti-muslim hate, transphobic language, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

    What a great headline.
The rest is interesting too. Health budget discussions. Spending on business case preparation for needed hospitals etc! Cancers will increase after all the debilitating things being absorbed by us; money is a concern in NZ when people want the same treatments as overseas. But what about diabetes, said to be rising particularly in the Pacific – and fat accumulation. There is a need for people who have gone past a certain level to get special help to return a balance in their weight and fitness. And there is the really debilitating endometriosis of women; I believe it is crippling for a long period in their lives.

The people involved in health that I speak to say that they are regularly expected to do extra, and did during emergencies, but it has become normalised now, and there is not proper rest and personal time. For some there is the strain of not having resources to provide what is needed for treatment or restoration of health. Australia is not just being talked about, it is becoming a definite exit plan.

Diabetes doubles the risk of cardiovascular disease, and about 75% of deaths in people with diabetes are due to coronary artery disease.

    Is diabetes increasing globally?
Key facts. The number of people with diabetes rose from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014. Prevalence has been rising more rapidly in low- and middle-income countries than in high-income countries. Diabetes is a major cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, stroke and lower limb amputation.5 Āpe 2023
